I'm having a panic attack. Last night I decided that this morning, I would say "screw it all" and just go out and run. That is something I have never done. After a while in PE I finally got out of it. It's embarrassing. I can't run in a straight line, I feel awkward, and have no idea where to put my arms. I decided I would just do it. I have taken many walks before but this was different. I found mt most exercise like clothing and washed then last night, dried them this morning. I got up about 7:00 took a shower. I even got on socks and my moms walking shoes. But the moment I got outside, I panicked.

It felt like everyone was watching me. It was very scary It was very frightening. I couldn't breath, my breath has only just started to get normal. My breath tightened. Now it's 8:00 and I feel sick and sad.

:( I thought I was strong enough to do it. I guess not.

Hi Shades,

For a bit I can relate, although I'm not much of runner. I would feel watched I quess and surely not at ease. Maybe cycling goes better but I don't know. Cycling is very common in Holland but maybe not in California. It's outdoors and suppost to be healthy. I like it and it doesn't feel awkward, sure when you compair it with running. And you can do it with your normal clothes on. For me a definit advantage; jogging clothes suck (=my opinion).

But hey.

Good luck and bye,
C.

This is very true - everyone else is so wrapped up in their own thing, that anyone who isn't them might as well be invisible.

You might also try walking - you'll need to go a bit farther to get the same workout as running (so it takes more time), but it will save your knees for when you get a bit older.

Sorry to hear about the panic. Try to relax when you run, it can feel good after you get into the rhythm. Just have fun with it.

Hi Shades, I've been in the same situation in the past.

The solution: continue to do it, as you said, f* it all,
you'll live :)

Thanks you guys! I feel really encouraged now. I think I'm just going to plan it out for tomorrow, and try again!
