I don't mean to worry anybody but, I've been having major chest pains for awhile now, and I'm almost positive that I've had several mild heart-attacks, in the past couple days. I'm going to the hospital in a few hours, and I don't know when I'll be back. The thought of open heart surgery is terrifying, but so is death, so I am forced to go. I just hope they have internet access somewhere so I am able to keep in touch. I wanted to post this just in case I don't make it back, so you all know what happened.

I guess the years of drug and alcohol abuse(and smoking) have finally caught up with me. :pale: I only wish they were panic attacks, but I know better, I've been dealing with them my whole life.

I had my first (and only) heart attack almost two years ago. One of my coronary arteries was 90% blocked. The surgeon did some angioplasty and installed a stent through a small incision in my right femoral artery, and I haven't had any problems since.

Best wishes.

OMG, you're only 34 even though you think you're old that's pretty young espeacially for heart attacks.

Hope everything turns out OK!!

There can be many different reasons for chest pain, don't panic.
ditto everything everyone else has said, especially Fnord;

Do see a doctor, but don't panic. As stated above, it could be other things as well. Good luck

Thanks again everyone. :D

I'm back for now. I went to the emergency room last night and they did an ECG and some bloodwork. They determined that my heart has not been damaged, yet. So, if I did have a couple heart attacks, they were not severe enough to do heart damage. Now I have to wait to see my family DR. tomorrow, and get a referral to see a cardiologist. So, I guess I'll just have to try and relax until then. :?

I feel happy for you. While my own heart attack certainly frightened my wife and I, it did not damage my heart. You may only need to make a few lifestyle changes (No more pizza?! ! AAARRGH!).

Did the doc prescribe aspirin?

No, they tried to convince me that it was acid-reflux because my heart wasn't damaged, and they prescribed an antacid. :roll: I am positive they were mild heart attacks, but I can do nothing until I get my referral tomorrow. I am going to the pharmacy later and will be sure to pick up some aspirin. Hopefully that will protect me until I see the specialist.

Glad you're okay. :)

It's good that you're doing something about it now instead of later.

Thanks for the aspirin suggestion. :D I'm on my own until tomorrow, so I bought some aspirin and it actually relieved some of the chest pain. Now I feel somewhat better, and should be able to relax some, until I see the Doc tomorrow. Maybe I'll even get some normal sleep. :D
