Hey folks! Guess what? :P

I'm writing to you all from the bed of room 211A in York Hospital...my second visit in a month, and I'll tell you why.

Remember how the last time I was here, was because of the dime I swallowed back in September, and it had got lodged in my small intestine? Well, 2 weeks after my dismissal papers, not only did the dimes (yes, DIMES! I didn't think all 3 would've stayed) move a few inches along...they wen't *out* of me! That is, perforated my bowel walls and into my abdomen, causing an infection!

Luckily, me and mom sensed something life-threatening had happened when last Saturday morning, I woke up with the feeling like I was going into septic shock, so mom took my tempoerature, which was 100F. So she didn't fool around, she sent me right away with Dad back to York to get another CAT scan, which revealed what I just told you in the previous paragraph. So they didn't fool around either; they opted for immediate surgery to remove the dimes, the imflammed bowel tract, AND stave off the perforation infection.

The first 3 days...were absolute HELL for me! Excruciating belly pain almost every hour, made worse when I coughed, almost fainting when I had to be helped up to go to the toilet, and TUBES!! ! The first 3 days after surgery, I had no less then TEN things attached to me; five pads on my chest to record life signs, two I.V.s in my left arm, a cappeta tube in my hoo-ha, and devices on my shins to keep the circulation in my feet going! I felt like a non-human being with all that junk attached to me!

*sighs* well, I guess I deserved it...because I did intentionally swallow those 3 dimes back in September as a punishment for trying to get frisky with my ex when she wasn't in the mood for it. The 7-inch staple scar on my belly will permanently remind me of this, and rightfully so...

*hugs*
I wish you hadn't eaten those dimes, they've caused so much pain
I hope you feel better :D

I'm just wondering...are you a guy or a girl? I though you were a girl because your avie, but you said that your ex is a girl. (though you could be gay or bisexual...I don't know)

aww...*hugs back* Thank you for caring.

And I am a guy...otherwise, I wouldn't have been thinking with my 'second head' when I did that little stunt with Amanda...the stunt that now cost me a foot of my large intestine.

But don't worry; that portion of my bowels was really banged up anyway from past Crohn's attacks, so maybe it was a blessing in disguise too. :)

Take care, ebec11

Hey guys, just catching you up on the latest in my latest hospital stay...

After 8 days here, I've had 2 different roomies, but both of them have been MUCH better then the Mr. Grumpy I had on my last stay here! But not without other drawbacks, of course; the first SNORED like you wouldn't believe! I was so happy whe he was released on Friday. The newest one who I got only today is the best so far, the only drawback being he's a groaner, but other then that, he's not as bad.

And maybe it's just a coincidence, but all 3 of my past hospital roomies...were all 61 years old! The first 2 I knew from overhearing the ages, and the 3rd I deduced from hearing his birthdate. But I guess in a hospital like York, this is normal; the median age of patients here is mid-50's. Heh, one nurse said that I was the youngest patient she treated in 9 months!

Anyways, I'm going crazy with cabin fever...can't wait to be discharged on Tuesday (the estimated departure date for me)...wish me luck! ^_^

Dimes as in coins? I'm trying to fill in the dots here.

Yes, you heard right: dimes as in ten cents each! 3 of them. And I did it deliberately to punish myself for trying to be frisky with my ex when she wasn't in the mood.

Anyways, what's done is done. Now then, I'm more worried right now about how my scarring is coming along, because today I noticed a worrying bulge in between 2 of my staple stitches. It looks like it's maybe on the verge of leaking discharge. :? But I'm gonna take extra care not to touch my scarring directly and to wash my hands frequently to avoid possible infection, and to put a little Neosporin on the wound to help healing.

God, I can't wait until Tuesday when these stitches come out, then I can be rid of this permanent 'seat belt' tightness sensation around my abdomen.

Wish me luck...
