50th ( I believe) Xmas alone. As usual my Xmas menu: canned tuna fish, canned beans and some xanax more. No dog this year (abducted, kidnapped). Very few wishes for a drastic decline in acquaintances and an e-mail discorauging wishes (some one didn’t open the mailbox and wished all the same). They will find my e-mail the two of January and apologize. A cell message saying “happy Xmas, if possible”. Not possible “friend”.

I'd say the same. I'm sorry you feel this way.

I'm sorry you're having a crummy Christmas.

I know this is off topic, but can you tell me what it's like in your part of Italy right now?

Some rain and snow.
The thing I miss more (and I have already flooded WP and other sites with this) is my little dog. Thanks everybody for your solidarity. It was not without effect.

Paolo,
I miss your little dog, too. :(
I had a little Christmas here, we had a record snowfall and on Christmas eve it was just sloppy slushy snowdrifts, ice coating the streets and rain falling on everything. I took the bus after work to the grocery and got some Clementine tangerines and they were selling ROSES for half off! I hunted around and found some nice ones that hadn't been picked over yet and brought it home on the bus.
Today I am modding WP and eating Clementines and sipping double spice Chai tea. Hope you are warm and full.

your friend,
Merle

So sorry to hear about your dog. It is hard to be without a beloved pet.

Can you get another pet? I know it won't be the same as the one you lost, but it might be better than nothing.

Ah, sorry to hear how you are feeling, Paolo :(

I thought of writing to you a few times but thought maybe you wouldn't want any (my reading between lines gets so garbled sometimes even with things that are obvious to others  ) I am going to write now! If you don't want to open it, that's OK.

Your friends at WP are with you in spirit and I hope today is better for you.

What is your town like today? Is it quiet or busy? Here the sales have started - already!

Merle, you have had snow! Lucky you! It rarely snow here by the coast. Snow is a Big Deal and the kids get very excited. They try to make snowballs from three flakes.

we had snow in the towns on the coast! In Tillamook they were having snow ball fights on the beach! I was doing flashbacks to Minneapolis just trying to negotiate the sidewalks of downtown Salem, OR. We are hoping for rain, and the warmer tempatures is at least melting the snow on the lawns, but the packed snow on the side streets is just freezing into a solid sheet of ice.

Merle
