I am having high anxiety. I just moved to a new state on the opposite coast and everything is new. Sometimes, it feels like an adventure. Other times, it wracks my nerves like crazy. I need help. We don't do well with change, transitions, new situations, etc. I'm especially having a hard time sometimes.

I've suffered from extreme anxiety myself. It's just torture. For me medication has helped. The only advice I have is to distract yourself by keeping your mind occupied. You are in a new environment, do the things (hobbies etc.) which made you feel comfortable in your previous place. I hope this helps. Hope everything works out alright. :D

Try to relax and get your mind focus on something more relaxing like music, book, or something of your interest. It helps me.

I'm with you whitetiger. the anxiety I have about the new job is really wrecking my nerves. can't sleep, can't eat, I wish I could just stay home all day in my bed and not have to do anything.

I think the worst thing is the fact that I still don't know what to expect of this job, and not being able to pursue my interests (I simply have no time or energy left for it after work). that just makes me miserable and apprehensive.

the thought that this is a passing stage and that I'll get used to it soon helps a bit, but there is a possibility that I'll need meds too.

I hope you'll be ok soon!

I also have periods of severe anxiety, in fact I'm in the middle of an anxiety attack right now. When I got the official diagnosis of AS, the psychologist also said that she suspected an anxiety disorder, yet didn't include that as a comorbid thing. After a bad experience with a glorified drug dealer with an MD, otherwise known as a psychiatrist, I'm extremely reluctant to get medication for it. That means that the only ways I try to treat the anxiety is with exercise and some relaxation techniques.
