Turn around, smell what you can see
Close your eyes, it's so clear
Here's the mirror, heart there is a screen
On both wings, you can't get in

Don't think twice before you listen to your heart
Follow the trace of a random star
What you need, and everything you feel
Is just a question of the deep

In the eye of the storm
Just see the lonely dove
The experience of survival
Is the key to the gravity of love

The path of excess leads to the tower of wisdom

Try to think about it
It's the chance to live your life and disover
What it is, it's the gravity of love

Look around, just behold
Can you hear the voice?
Find the one who'll guide you
To the limits of your choice

Never fear in the eye of the storm
Just see the lonely dove
The experience of survival
Is the key to the gravity of love

(one of mine)

Edit: crap, I just realized I forgot to credit this. It's the lyrics to Gravity of Love by Enigma.

Pragmatism.

and you
and you
and you...

with your ships
and secrets
(secret things)
collections and
obscurities

open your small hands
and take mine
just now
you may lead me
for i wish to be
thorn-free
for you
(but not false)
in time i will probably
drift and recognise truth
which sounds hard
but i'm trying to be

practical.

1998

(bet all the format's buggered up - this poem is punctated using spaces...)

edit: (yep - blasted thing...)

I'd like you all to know that,
At this present moment in time,
I am feeling extremely paranoid,
It's irrational but it will pass fairly soon.

The end.

My first attempt at poetry. Haha.

*flaps arms*

Because I want to take this public... this is from Jan 18 2005
(rational: if any other mods think the content is too mature, I have no problem removing it)

mindf**k

bound by a lifetime of habit
where willpower is the only key to redemption
watching his sculpted hand beckon
I fester in my own indifference

the human mind, infinitely adaptable
snaps into a failsafe routine
and snatches away judgement somewhere between
the amygdala and the cerebral cortex
and I'm lucky
if ever I feel the echoed whisper
of Daria's disgust
and remember she would give up health and future
to sear this immorality from my soul

her fury covers my bewilderment
my deadness covers her fury
a playful shield covers my deadness
and I comply
swearing I feel what he wants me to feel
and afterwards, curled head-first under the blanket
because he doesn't like me watching him dress
I dive into a stolen fragment of safety
and know I have no right to b***h

There all great poems. I wish I could write poetry, simply for the sake of having a way to express how I feel. A form of release I guess you could say. I've tried before, but am kind of a perfectioness and so stop writing because I feel that what I'm writing is not good enough. At the moment I tend to hold everything in which of course leads to it all coming out very suddenly and not usually in a good way.

Anyway, nice poems people, keep it up.

...Thank you.
I suppose the grass is always greener, but I kind of wish it hurt, that would be better than indifference.

Forever are we frozen
like a statue in the sea;
Poseidon's wrath comes down---
and our tears fall into the water.

The sun is rising on the horizon,
horizontal bliss.
But I am on the beach,
like Poseidon's statue gone cold.

The friends I had have gone to Sheol,
where their screams of agony lift up
to the surface of the earth.
It is all inside of my mind, all is gone away....

I can live forever... and forever can live me.
