bound by a lifetime of habit
where willpower is the only key to redemption
watching his sculpted hand beckon
I fester in my own indifference

the human mind, infinitely adaptable
snaps into a failsafe routine
and snatches away judgement somewhere between
the amygdala and the cerebral cortex
and I'm lucky
if ever I feel the echoed whisper
of Daria's disgust
and remember she would give up health and future
to sear this immorality from my soul

her fury covers my bewilderment
my deadness covers her fury
a playful shield covers my deadness
and I comply
swearing I feel what he wants me to feel
and afterwards, curled head-first under the blanket
because he doesn't like me watching him dress

There all great poems. I wish I could write poetry, simply for the sake of having a way to express how I feel. A form of release I guess you could say. I've tried before, but am kind of a perfectioness and so stop writing because I feel that what I'm writing is not good enough. At the moment I tend to hold everything in which of course leads to it all coming out very suddenly and not usually in a good way.

Anyway, nice poems people, keep it up.

Forever are we frozen
like a statue in the sea;
Poseidon's wrath comes down---
and our tears fall into the water.

The sun is rising on the horizon,
horizontal bliss.
But I am on the beach,
like Poseidon's statue gone cold.

The friends I had have gone to Sheol,
where their screams of agony lift up
to the surface of the earth.
It is all inside of my mind, all is gone away....

I can live forever... and forever can live me.
