he is having a hard time with things in his life.

Could you pray that his life will get better and people will be nice to him?

I disagree. Praying creates a positive energy that others can pick up on and help heal from the negativeness. :D That said, I do not know just you very well but he seems like a terrific guy that has helped you out a lot during your hard times so I will pray for him as well. I wish you both the best.
