To start the rant....

I do not want SB2 or Sean to reply to this thread (even in a polite manner) or I will hate them even more than I do already. I have tryed (and failed  ) to make out an injunction against them preventing them from posting on personal threads that I have started, but as usual the Mods just ignore me.

Before all you right-wing Americans start blowing your victory trumpets, let me say that I was not banned for making negative remarks about America. Rather I was banned because I retaliated against offensive personal remarks made about me by Sean and SB2.

Also let me say that the moderators here are crap. The moderation blanket is a one-way semi-permeable membrane that lets insults fly one way (towards me) but not the other way when I try to defend myself.

Finally, thank you to Hecate, Eamonn, DivaD, SanityIsOverRated and many others who have supported me through this incident.

I understand that my views are unpopular with many but that is no excuse to insult me and provoke me into retaliating. To do this is childish and stupid, and starts flame wars that I have no interest in participating in.

Welcome back.
Perhaps you can ask about restoring the ignore function. It was here when I first came to the site but I guess it created some problems.
Or you can just do what I do and skip the post when you see the name.

The thing I find most amazing about this site is not that the moderators are human (and you have to give them that), but that accomodating typical aspergers behavior has not been well thought out. Its really hard to have a tantrum here, yet those are a fact of AS life. I can't say as I would know how to handle it, but it would be nice to see some sort of indication that it has been given thought. And even as I say that, I realize that probably they have given it thought.

Before I lose my train of thought, I'll reiterate my welcome back and say that you were missed in many ways.

nice to see you again.

you haven't missed much. please don't even bother looking at the thread made to support you, the bullies hijacked it to carry on with the personal attacks against you while you weren't there to complain, and extended the intimidation and provocation to anyone daring to support you. sorry i couldn't say more to support you but i have even less capacity to deal with bullying than you do.

haven't had much luck with the mods either, any questions i've had have only gotten 'political' answers of what they wanted to say anyway rather than addressing anything i'd said. that's put me off trying to make anything any better. i think we have to deal with this our own way. since the moderators seem to resemble a gentlemen's club and the righties have their clique, i thought a good left solution for us would be... a Union :)

... guess i should change my avatar back now ...

Glad you're back. I enjoyed the debates, even if they did get carried away

Hope that you had a good holiday none the less....

i am partly sad and partly disappointed that you say this, robert, as i thought very long and hard about my reply to you.

for information, my reply is quoted below. i shall not post robert's original PM, as i haven't asked his permission:

hi robert - glad you returned. i've read all the above, and thought about it, and i think the nest way to proceed is for you just to post as normal - that way, anyone who wants to start anything is in the wrong, and the mods can deal with them.

i don't know if we can set up an ignore button just for one member, and i actually wonder if that's really want you want us to do. i'll explain that - what that would be asking is for us to take responsibility for any retaliation you might make, and i'm sure that (put that way) this is not what you want.

i'm afraid that, with open forums like WP, no-one can really stop anyone from posting on your threads, as that's tantmount to censorship and privileged treatment - i'm sure you wouldn't want that, either. what i can offer - and i believe other mods would be willing to do the same - is for you to PM us whenever there's a potentially sticky situation looming on the horizon. if you do it privately rather than publicly, then you are absolutely in the right, and no-one jumps on you. in other words, we support you, but are not "nannying" you.

i understand your feelings of vulnerability - what i'm suggesting above helps you to get round those, by empowering you yourself, rather than relying on an ignore button. does this make sense?

as for individuals with whom you do not see eye to eye, as it were... well, debate his points using political arguments, and ask him (preferrably by PM, as public announcements tend to spark off huge and heated debates) not to continue with any solicited offers.

how does that sound?

PM me again if you need to know anything else. i will be posting your PM and the reply on the mods' forum, so that everyone knows exactly what's happening. if anyone has better suggestions, i'll let you know.

i have tried to both accomodate and support you, with the above, and am puzzled as to why you consider this to be ignoring you.

This is absurd. All the moderators are left-wing themselves. I can't believe anyone would even argue the contrary. However, moderators do not let that get in the way of making fair decisions. Because of that, you seem to get the idea that they're right wing, which makes no sense.

actually, to the best of my knowledge, this isn't true. as far as i am aware, there is a spread of political affiliations (if any at all) amongst the moderators.

Vivi, I haven't received any PM's from you at all. Maybe part of my account is still disabled.

However, I shall consider what you have just said.

Welcome back, Robert. We've been corresponding away from WP as friends so there's not too much to say but I'm glad you're here again. You're a person who's genuinely nice and a true friend and I'm looking forward to reading your contributions here again.
