The thing is, she is not legal yet, and already pregnant? now that would disrupt male fantasies towards an 18 year old who already has a child for not being that innocent :P Not good for publicity.

Do we have to care? no, I like to choose celebrities which don't get into any scandal and any BS like this.

By BS I mean scandals, controversies and problems celebrities get themselves into, like Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, Britney Spears, etc.

My first response to this thread was "Who cares!"

But then my daughter pointed out that she has a show (Zoey 101 on Nickelodeon) that attracts young girls and it's kind of sad that this has happened under such a spotlight because she could be using that show to instill values and help these girls to get through their teen years avoiding the pitfalls that so many succumb to.

Zoey 101 Theme Song

(Are you ready)

Oh
I know you see me standing here
Do I look good my dear
Do I look good today
Oh Oh Oh
I'm just another kind of girl
And you wanna see my world
So come and run away
Yeah Yeah

If you wanna play
Come and play today
Let's just get away
Yeah

I will make you see
All the things you that you can be
Believe in your self
Come follow me
Yeah Yeah
Yeah

I am really tired of all these reality shows and feel like the celebrities on them are selling their privacy along with their souls. Let's see how real people live, not a bunch of spoiled brats and screwed up housewives, and a narcissists with a seven inch tongue. Yeah, I know, maybe I should lighten up. Now Ozzy I could dig. And oddly enough, I think he and Sharon have decent values. I loved their show.

celebrity(sə-lĕb'rĭ-tē)

A famous person.
Renown; fame.

[Middle English celebrite, fame, from Old French, from Latin celebritās, from celeber, celebr-, famous.]

All it takes to be a 'celebrity' is to be famous. Everyone on this thread knows of Jaime Lynn hence she is a famous person.

Perhaps not in her own right, but think about it, is Jamie Lynn reading about YOU in the tabloids tonight?

in my opinion i couldnt give a flying s**t about any of these "celebrities" they are all BS to me... just more regular citizens tacked up as "famous" for doing nothing but singing a few songs... you want to be famous in my eyes you gotta change the world in some way... otherwise f**k you...

When in doubt, ask an autistic. Chances are, they're obsessed with what you need to know.

I was flipping channels last night and TMZ was talking about her. I watched so I could post in here for fun. Apparently the father is 18 or 19. If he is 19, he could be charged with statutory rape...so they say. She doesn't want him in the delivery room and is no longer dating him. My daughter is confused about the whole thing. They interviewed the father's uncle in Mississippi who is a retired preacher. The family is upset, but dealing with it. People is paying $1M for the first pictures post delivery. Another sad commentary on American culture.

Has anyone thought that maybe she wanted to have the baby? If you are in a family like that, forced into celebrity since a child, perhaps the only way she could find any way to assert herself was to become pregnant - knowing that things would irrevocably change. Perhaps this was her idea of 'escape.' She wouldn't be the first girl to think so.
There are lots of girls that want babies, and have babies, because they want them. The terms 'babymomma' and 'babydaddy' is a case in point. They have their own reasons for getting pregnant, no matter how 'dumn' it seems to others.

Other 'celebrities' chime in
Huckabee: I'm Glad Jamie Lynn Spears Is Keeping Her Baby

By Eric Kleefeld - December 21, 2007, 9:03AM

Mike Huckabee has become the first known presidential candidate to comment on Jamie Lynn Spears, the pregnant 16-year old sister of Britney Spears. "Apparently, she's going to have the child and I think that is the right decision, a good decision, and I respect that and appreciate it," Huckabee told reporters in Iowa. "I hope it is not an encouragement to other 16-year-olds who think that is the best course of action.

"But at the same time I'm not going to condemn her. There'll be plenty of people in line to do that and I always look for the shortest lines. I just hope that she will make another right decision and that's to give that child all the love and kindness and care that she can."
