Because the media thinks it's cool, so therefore all the simple minded do as well.

Now, now... They can't help it that things are shoved into their faces and they're told time and time again how awesome everyone will think they are if the have a particular thing.

Thing Du Jour... It's what everyone has. Except Lumina, she doesn't care either way. 8) Now, where's my iPod, iPhone, Prius, Nikes, Mac, and cup of Probiotic yogurt?

Sometimes I do get confused about such things. How did "Soulja Boy" become the most popular song in the country for a period of time? I think that was some sort of cultural low point for us. That song was only fun to listen to because it was so bad.

It's easy to understand all you have to do is have some celebrity endorse your product and every mindless fanboy(or girl) will do anything to be like their Idol, even if it means buying overpriced crap.

Part of it is a social thing. If you like something that everyone else likes then you fit in.

I think that it's mindless stupidity.

Because of complex psychological and sociological reasons.

Because we live in a narcisistic pop culture society?
I took some sociology BTW. Humans are still a mystery to me. :alien:

I always feel like that Kid in the fairytale that said that the king wasn't wearing clothes because everyone else likes really idiotic things and I am the only one who seems to realize how bad they are...

Sometimes they get it right and like a good song but other times what most sheep like is just painful. A lot dont even know what they like isnt really of their choosing.

No idea why. I can understand Nike and the likes, but some fashions are so stupid as to move me to tears.
Anyone seen velcro trainers about? How about T-shirts that have their stitches on the outside? Why do NTs insist on looking like they can't tie their laces and can't dress themselves properly?
