As i've said before, just knowing that others care is great.
I found a home video of myself and my friend today of when we were 10 years old. I watched it and I can say that remembering what type of person she was and seeing her face one last time (even though the video was from almost 7 years ago) has kind of given me some closure.
I can say the same. Shortly after she left, my mum gave me Billy Connolly on DVD, which helped distract my mind. It was very effective, to the point where he cracked a joke about people who, if they wanted to commit suicide by jumping off a bridge, should try bungie jumping to see how they like it, and I was able to laugh about it.
I happened to stumble across some recordings of her playing her guitair (over 14 minutes) and one of her counting to 10 in Danish (she was born in Denmark), plus of course the numerous photos I have of her, and that has had to be the closure I have had to hold on to.

I was sad when I found that she left
But then I found
That I could speak to her,
In a way
And sadness turned to comfort
We all go there
