I'm pretty emo...I don't dress like one or even like the music, but I feel like I have emotional issues.

Pardon my stupidity, but what exactly is an "emo?"

I was thinking it was some sort of bird, but no, that's an "Emu."

I'm not emo, though I do feel emotions.

1.) a style of whiny-vocal pop-punk music that 15 year olds listen to these days

2.) a style of dress imitating these bands

3.) a pejorative label 15 year olds use for guys who don't meet their standards of "manliness", namely listening to rap music and acting like a ret*d “gangsta” thugs.

4.) a pejorative label 15 year olds use for guys who show any "non-manly" emotions.

Those are the definitions I see from the internet. It’s really just a nebulously defined meme these days.

Oh. Well, thanks for the definition. I guess I'm definitely not an emo or an emu. Whichever.

Emo is a very sad thing. Apparently, it's an excuse for people to whine about their problems, most of which could be fixed if they would stop whining about them and tried to fix them. Emo is almost a mockery of people with real depression.

In short, I'm not emo.

I do certain things which not be named that would generally be stereotyped as emo, but I do not follow the trend.

I see no emo, I hear no emo, and I speak no emo. Therefore, I am no emo.

But I would definitely call these guys emos.......

I've been called an emo several times because I actually have "real" depression and people think i'm just choosing to feel depressed. :?
Also, I like black clothing so people call me emo.

It's stupid.

I'm so emo, my silvery studded belt from hot topic commit suicide because my tight-ass, groin strangling girl-pants didn't "understand it's pain"

OH SNAP!

srsly, I'm not emo at all. Has anyone noticed how there are fewer and fewer emos around these days? It seems that everyone was so busy making fun of them that being emo went from a legitimate subculture to a punchline.

People have called me emo before. I cut myself once, but I'm so uber happy that I can't be really counted as ONE OF THEM.

I'm more goth anyways. Optmistic Semi-Goth, actually.
