Ahhhh, good to see it still causes some people the amusement it did when I was ten. Driving through it every weekend wore off the fun. >>;;

Hey, I'm from Cockeysville, Maryland.

When I used to drive to the TX Hill Country from San Antonio, I'd pass through Comfort and Welfare, which were right next to each other. Obviously the order depended on which direction I was traveling in. I don't know if that's the kind of thing that would be funny to anyone but me.

Also, I used to have a good friend who was from Wayne, Maine. The general store there sold bumper stickers that said, "WHERE THE HELL IS WAYNE, MAINE?"

Nothing beats the names of towns in Australia, though. Just look at a map of Australia - most of the towns have silly names that are fun to say. My Australian friend says it's because of the Aboriginal language(s). Here are some examples:

Gooloogong
Wagga Wagga
Euabalong
Cootamundra
Moombooldool
Kooloonong
Kinalung
Tibooburra
Milparinka

And those are just from the northwestern corner of New South Wales!! I wish my address was:

EvilKimEvil
101 Wagga Wagga Wagga Way
Kinalung, NSW <--Tim_Tex could fill in the zip code
AUS

Except I'd probably have to live off the grid, who knows where my water would come from, and my neighbors would be pythons and wallabies. Sounds all right, actually.

I first came across a place called Sticker down in Cornwall where my aunty lives about 18 years ago.

I think it means St Icker in celtic which is simular over in Wales like St Athan is know as Sain Tathan.

Boring, Oregon is for real.

It's a very lively town,
despite businesses closing down
and having to deal with its main rival,
Sandy, OR a few miles away.

So basically Boring is a party town? That's a nice contradiction :)

I forgot Belgium also has a town called Reet , which is also a Dutch slang term for an arse. And a town called Boom 8)

I've got a picture of me with snow everywhere and my arm around a sign that says "Welcome to Hell." It's a city in Michigan too.

Ralph, MI
Eden, TX
Sandusky, Ohio isn't really anything special just fun to say.

Funny place names in Britain:

Bishops Itchington
Cockbush Avenue (actually a road but couldn't resist)
Cockfoster
Cockpond (a 'cesspool' of a place)
Fingringhoe (Where else but Essex?)
Ham and Sandwich (Kent)
Herbert's Hole
Nasty (Herts.)
Nether Poppleton (North Yorkshire)
New Invention (Wales)
North Piddle (Worcs.)
Snig's End (Gloucs.)
Thong
Windy Yet (Strathclyde, Scotland)
Wormegay (Norfolk)

This list makes me proud to be British.

An American town (I forget which one) once named itself Batmantown. The crime rate skyrocketed, so they renamed themselves again, to the considerably less exotic Plainville.

For some reason Truth Or Consequences, New Mexico, always amuses me, too.
