Why do most newer american vehicles use metric bolts? WTF?

damn that metric stuff hehe
as a kid, my dad had alot of tools, amongst them alot of the inch-stuff
system you americans use. I was used to milimeters, 10, 11, 12, 13 and so
on, as easy as pie. Everytime i picked up one of those inch-things and tried
to use it, it always ended in a loud, angry "WTF!! !"

i hated them tools i did
hehe never fit on anything, it was a nightmare to work with - think i actually threw
it all away at one point, my limit was reached

rememeber standing there, reading
the numbers on the tools, not getting it at all and thinking "what the **** is wrong
with these people, why does anyone want to use this crap.."
my bolt says 11 mm, and my tool says 5/8 or something of an inch.. ok then..
not easy for a small kid. And your 120volt power-thing has made me go wtf a few times
problems occur when theres closer to 240v comming out of the walls here. Remember a
american vcr a guy in california sent to me as a gift with some movies, that drove me up the wall, 120volts and NTSC picture system

nothing worked of course since i had 220volts and PAL.
