I DON'T THINK ANYTHING HARMFUL IS GOING TO HAPPEN!

This is just a particle beam accelerator.

What if they accidently create a real big-bang, but this time Earth being the center of the new universe? :P

Total energy in must equal total energy out, that's why.

Anyway, I think they must have had made precautions and security measures very carefully, it's hardly that their equipment could get fairly damaged as well, wouldn't that be a waste of money, if so?

Exactly.

and again.....

we will be here on the 11th. I'm not scared of the Large Hadron Collider, it's just another mad science experiment done by mad scientists

Doomsday device? I suppose I can part with one and still be feared...

The experiment just proceeded. The singularity removed the ears of all people...

So they've been injecting beams since August, but on the tenth they're sending one all the way round the loop. And then in October they're moving to high-energy collisions.

I don't know what that means. :?

Really? so that's how atom bombs work :chin: they must have amazing battery technology

Yes, matter does have an amazing "battery"/quantity of energy stored in the form of mass.
Of which energy, only a fraction is released. Going the opposite way, takes more power.
Even if you were to power the particle accelerator with many nuclear reactors, the energy that forms into mass would still be derived from the reactors.

Regardless of me not believing there is anything risky to this doomsday experiment, I do think it is a waste of money when in some countries thousands of people could get a proper education and home and medical care with this money.

Better yet, let's end all the wars. That way, we use the former military budgets to feed, educate, house, and treat all of the world's people for the next few years and build three or for more new hadron colliders, as well!

Aside from a nuclear war, how would you do that peacefully?

Have you taken any physics or chemistry? Even electronics?

First Law of Thermodynamics ("You Can't Break Even"): "The change in the internal energy of a closed thermodynamic system is equal to the sum of the amount of heat energy supplied to the system and the work done on the system."

In other words, there is always energy that is "wasted" in the running of any process.
