Since Halloween is this month, I would like to post a special topic that many people can relate to and it's about certain things that scared us from childhood until now. What scared you then as a child? What scared you now as an adult? What are things that still scare you since you were a child? Well here is my three subjects of my list that scared me as a child, scares me as an adult, and still get scared from the fear as a child. Some are common, but some are obscure you may think that I am totally a weird person for being afraid of those things.

CHILDHOOD (Age 3-17)
Michael Jackson's "Thriller" video
Teddy Ruxpin
Riding a bike
Being in the woods (except when I am camping)
The beginning of He-Man where Adam transforms into He-Man
The Exercist
The part on Moonwalker where Michael turns into a robot.
Any movie that has a werewolf in it (mostly because of "Thriller")
Transformation sequences in films
Tom Petty's "Don't Come Around Here No More" video
Dee-Lite's "Grove is in the Heart" video
My brother (just kidding)
The scene in Total Recall where Arnold Scwartzenegger's character's eyes bulge out while losing oxygen in Mars.

ADULTHOOD (18-present)
Fear of heights
Michael Jackson himself
Lonliness
Driving a car
Place where they don't have music in the background
Living with my parents forever
Total slience
Crowded spaces (I'm not claustrophobic or anything)

FEARS I STILL HAVE SINCE CHILDHOOD
Fear of drowning/aquaphobia
Embarssment
People making fun of me because I am different

Large dogs and aggressive dogs. Making phone calls. Going into town by myself. Sleeping in the dark by myself especially in total silence. Total darkness. Sometimes total silence. Although sometimes I am fearless when I am with my friends.

As a child:

The X-Files theme song
Courage the cowardly dog
The thought of bones, veins, organs
The thought of my parents dying
Fireworks
My uncle
Ivan Ooze
Purple
The dark

Now:

Being watched
Veins, circulation, anything to do with blood
Anyeurisms
Clots
People jumping out from behind cars
Mold
Cockroaches

My fear of blood and stuff has remained constant; the other things have mostly shifted.

wild nature
being electrocuted
extremely tall people

I've always had those. now I have a few more:

the thought of having a stroke/some sort of accident and in effect being paralysed and dependent on others
getting evicted
getting old

I find The Exorcist scary as hell too, especially that bit when the girl is going downstairs backwards on her hands like a spider, damn I can't look at it lol

*edit* you just reminded me I have a fear of blood and veins as well. not as much as I used to though, thanks to watching too much CSI ;p

Crowds and Noise
The London Underground ( because I was told the devil lived underground )
Walking on cracks in pavements

I'm trying to remember things that scared me from my childhood, the only thing I can come up with now is the time I saw Little Shop of Horrors live when I was a kid. When Audrey 2 came out on stage, my family and I were sitting pretty close to the front of the stage, and I cried cause I thought Audrey 2 was going to eat me.

The two big ones for me have always been barking dogs and crowds of people.

Adult fears:

    Fear of heights.
Fear of crowds and crowded places.
Fear of being fooled ... again.
    Fear of poverty and homelessness.
Childhood fears:
    Fear of violence.
    Fear of abandonment.
    Feaqr of ostracism.
That's pretty much it.

fear of roller coasters

As an adult:

abandonment
verbal & physical abuse
not being accepted
ridicule

of ending up destitute & on the streets
of never being "good enough" & being too imperfect

Clowns. Evil foul clowns.(stemming from when my father forced me to watch the movie "it" when i was five. although I wasn't too keen on them before.) I also had a harrowing sitiuation several years before. me and my dad and my brother were walking along in hollywood. I think it was getting pretty dark. anyway, just as we were passing by an alley way, a clowned came out, leaned against the wall with one leg, and looked at me as he honked his huge red nose. It was so frightening!
Elephants in Tutus. They scare the hell out of me. I'm slightly ok with Hippos in Tutus, but not really. I recently found a flip book in my brothers room of hippos in tutus dancing ballet, and i couldn't breath, it's like my lungs shrivled up and i got so scared.

There is a lot more... hmm...

water. I mean Dark water, or lakes, swimming at night ithout a light. you can't see the bottom, it's scary.

The funny thing is I absolutely LOVE elephants on their own, and hippos are ok.

When I was a child, I was afraid of the princess at the end of the original Super Mario Bors.

Now, I really can't think of anything that scares me, but I'm sure there's something. :chin:

When I was a child I was afraid of bones. They terrified me, there was something "spooky" about them. Another thing was the cracks that formed when the ground was dry. I felt like that if I stepped on them I would get "swallowed up," so I avoided them whenever possible.

As an adult I am afraid of living at my parents' house forever, and never doing anything good or exciting with my life.
