Our cat, Buddy (belonging to my roomate and me) is very ill. Initially she was constipated, so it seemed, and we fixed that problem, but then she soon showed constipated symptoms again, and is no longer eating. As of last night, she was acting very lethargic, and this morning she was even worse. She keeps trying to get up, then painfully meows, and lays back down. She wont eat, she wont drink, and most of the time she's not moving. Her breathing is labored. We're taking her to the emergency vet, but all hope seems lost.

EDIT: Update: Buddy was put to sleep. She had an arythmia, was hypothermic, struggling to breathe, and overall not doing well. She was old, anyhow (about 13). {Buddy: About 1996-2009 Rest in Peace}

I'm sorry for the loss of your cat Buddy. It's hard losing a pet. I'm not really good with these things, but I did want you to know that I saw your post, and was thinking of you. My condolences. :cry:

I'm very sorry for your loss... Losing a pet is hard.

Just try and think that she isn't in pain anymore. I like to think I will see my pets again someday.

OMG, I'm sorry that happened. :(

I've been there many times and it's never easy especially if you're an animal lover like myself. I consider pets to be like losing family members.

Aw, thanks so much for the candle lighting, you guys. I lit a candle too.

And the rainbow bridge thing is sweet. :) I'm not sure I believe it, but it's a nice thought :)

NovaBat,
the rainbow bridge idea is something usually strongly believed in on animal forums,it's used a lot on catster:
http://www.catster.com/forums/When_its_ ... ay_Goodbye dont know whether believe in it either,but guess its a softer,closer and nicer sounding thing to think of than heaven when they have not died too long ago.
