yes, big time :D

I'd quit trying to learn French though, it was too annoying... unless they find normal names for numbers and start saying ninety-one instead of four-twenties-and-eleven I will keep up my boycott :p

Me too. But for various reasons I gave up learning Spanish (basic albeit) and French. I want to start again). Learning Arabic or Japanese might be nice too. :D

I learned Sanskrit many years ago, then Russian to a basic level; now I'm learning French - got to - I live in France now.

There is a certain satisfaction reading languages that are not written with the A-Z latin alphabet.

I don't come across Sanskrit very often nowadays unless it is in action films set India and involving ancient treasure and Indiana Jones  Interesting that they do make the effort to put correct Sanskrit words on the film sets and not just an assortment of Devanagari letters - very few people would know the difference.

Similarly with films incorporating Russian and Cyrillic script, but I guess Russian is much more recognisable than Sanskrit anyway so has to be correct.

I used to be VERY interested in languages but not so much now, although they were my best subject at school and I was really good at them. I did French and German at school. I then taught myself Spanish, and at university did Portuguese as an outside subject one year.

The languages that intrigue me most, though, are what's called the international auxiliary languages. These are languages such as Esperanto which is the best known example.

You should look at the Belgian numbers then.

I learn Esperanto and English (my mother tongue in German). I am not as fluent as I want to be despite all these years.

Edit: it's "ja" and "nein" in German, so maybe you can still correct your poll.

I like Icelandic and Armenian, simply because I find their alphabets interesting.

Four years of high school Spanish, enough to pass me out of two college-level classes (after some review).
