i do not perceive compliments easily.

people either speak the truth or they do not. if they something is good about me, then i usually already know that, so it is merely an observation they are making.

but i like when people say "good work". that makes me feel kind of relaxed and relieved (if it is a boss).

"That's excellent customer service." My boss said this to me after a troubleshooting call where I worked. He was listening to the call, and came over to compliment me. It might not be the best EVER, but it's the best and latest.

Best compliment?
I tend to forget but a good one was when she said; 'Could you make a painting for me?' That felt quite good at the time. (Quite a long story after that but hey....)

I've had people tell me I have a nice personality on the phone (when I answer phones for work) and that I have a nice voice :)

Oh yeah, I got the 'nice phone voice' quite a bit too. People actually mistook me for an answering machine a couple of times, not because I sound like a robot I think, but because they said I sounded so professional they thought it was one of those.. recorded menu people.

"I liked the way you played that." about my solo (bassoon) in Rimsky Korsakov's Scheherazade; compliments after concerts by the audience can be 'de rigeur,' but this was by a fellow orchestral member after a rehearsal, and thus totally un-necessary, therefore more likely to be sincere, which is the only kind I welcome

About 95 times out of 100, when someone calls a woman a b**** it's because she's come across as assertive and intelligent, rather than genuinely nasty. For this reason, I feel strangely flattered if i get called a b****.

I can't think of a best compliment at the moment, but the most recent was on Saturday night when a stranger said he liked my t-shirt (which I happened to design myself). The t-shirt is red, and reads in black capital letters "Satan's School for Girls" 8)

I was working as a part time painter, in a large hospital, and got to know one of the doctors, who was a radiologist. He gave me a math puzzler to solve, I thought about if for two days and when I told him the answer, he told me that I was the first person he'd questioned who had gotten it right. It was good for the ego.

I used to play Socom 3 online. On that game, players communicate via microphone on a headset. A lot of people said that I had a strong assertive voice. One guy said that my voice made me sound like I was much older than I actually am.

Nothing specific, but the occasional "good looking" comment is always nice to hear. :)

I have been told by alot of people that I could be a model and that I'm gorgeous.
That is flattering but most of us will all get old and ugly some day so that doesn't mean as much to me, as some complimenting you for your inner beauty. :)

'...For being a God maybe'. I got this via email from an anonymous sender, though it was clearly obvious who it was because I was quoting Francis Bacon, and it just seemed clever the way he slipped it in.('Whosoever is delighted in solitude is either a wild beast or a god.')
