when i go to bed, my desk/closet/chair makes noise WTF!! !! !?

this has been happening for quiet sometime. when i go to bed my desk/chair/closet starts clicking. it's like a click that transfers from one spot to another. is there a certain energy source that keeps bouncing from one spot to another?

i have insomnia because i have a very irregular sleep pattern and this just may be some sort of a life force of my frustration of me unable to fall asleep. or maybe it's something else that i dont know of because i swear i checked my chair, i thought something is wrong with it, then my desk, then i thought i had some bugs or something. but no it's just clicking over and over. i threw out my old crappy pc chair and i got a new one and still clicking noise!! ! omg its driving me nuts!! !! !! its like the clicks just keep jumping from chair, to desk, to closet, to walls, etc... ahhhhhhhhhhhhh!! !! !! !! help!

Like everyone else said, it's probably the heat.

I know my Dreamcast and its controllers is made out of a certain type of plastic that cracks when the unit heats up...one time I accidentally left one of the controllers in front of the register, and it kept clicking, and it took me forever to realize what it was.

Thats becausetheye are plotting against you as you sleep. If I was you I would get an axes to them, covere them with gasoling, then burn them

Just so you know you're not going crazy, my stuff does that too. It's what everybody (except Eggman ) above said -- heating and cooling causes things to expand and contract producing clicking or cracking noises.

If it bothers you that much, get earplugs.

My TV does it, but it sounds more like someones smacked the top. I know the sound, i always do it.

I hear all sorts of noises in my house when it gets to night, I just assumed that it was just that there was less noise traffic and noises that might not normaly be heard, are heard aswell as I an hear the freeway. It used to always freak me out when I was a kid.

Maybe a poltergeist! Speaking of poltergeists, I'll never forget the scene with that possesed toy clown. As a kid, constant paranoia of being in a dark room made me too scared to even walk by myself. Sometimes I thought I heard random noises, and sometimes I had the perception of somebody like Jason Voohrees or Chucky just waiting for me in a dark corner. Or that clown. Even though I would convince myself that they were all ficional, I had that feeling inside of me.
