i know this should be under forum games but i thought i'd attract more users if i posted this in a slightly less likely category. and with me being a music freak, i can help out by putting out some fairly well known lyrics i happen to know if this thread slows down...

here are the rules: i start out by posting a decent little part of a verse from a fairly well known song (just not WAY too vague, everyone) withOUT the name of the song and the singer/band, obviously, and the next person in the post who knows the lyrics at least somewhat well finishes them, but then has to return the favor by posting lyrics from a favorite band of theirs--once again one that most people have heard of. i want this game to be challenging but not too challenging, know what i mean? and a good part of the challenge is if you can take it from a least-expected part of a song that not everyone can remember at the drop of a hat. just keep it simple, no mature lyrics but i'm sure everyone knows that of course, and let's all have some fun!

lemme start with one artist that's easier to remember w/ lyrics than most:

'it's a traffic jam, when you're already late
A no smoking sign, on your cigarette break
It's like ten thousand spoons when all you need is a knife...'

think you know the rest? i'm sure you do, but if you happen to not remember where this came from, more power to ya, i guess.
just something to start the thread off with.

enjoy everyone!

ts meeting the man of my dreams
and then meeting his beautifully jewish mother

and isn't it ironic...dont you think?

its like rain on your wedding day
its a free ride when you've already paid
its the good advice that you just didnt take
and who wouldve thought it'd figured...?

------
you said not too vague so maybe my response is too obvious

To those of us who knew the pain
Of valentines that never came
And those whose names were never called
When choosing sides for basketball
It was long ago and far away
The world was younger than today

Unfortunately, b9's post really helped boost my memory, so I feel like I'm cheating quite a bit.

It's like meeting the man of my dreams
Then meeting his beautiful wife.
