Annnnnnnyone? I've got two Leopard Geckos, an Argentine Black and White Tegu, a Corn Snake, a Columbian Boa Constrictor, and a Reticulated Python :D Also, two Tarantulas(a Salmon Pink Birdeater and a Chaco Golden Knee).
After watching Mozart and the Whale, i kind of wonder if having a fixation on unusual animals is a common Aspie thing.

I used to have an interest in snakes, probably because there aren't any here in NZ and they were something different and interesting. I think that anyone can have an interest or obsession with reptiles and/or unusual animals. I'm sure not all snake, lizard or exotic bird enthusiasts have AS.

I think it's fairly common for Aspies to like unusual animals. I sure have that fixation. Unfortunately they're illegal here...

I'm totally obsessed with strange animals. I love snakes, and am planning on getting one soon. I had rats and I loved them. My dude and I spend countless hours online looking at pictures of various odd reptiles and cooing over them, particularly varanids. I am also constantly surrounded by strange animals as I work daily with nautilus, basket stars and horseshoe crabs. I love strange creatures :)

I had a Chilean Rose Hair Tarantula for 2 years and will be getting a Costa Rican Zebra Tarantula next month. I find them to be utterly fascinating and quite beautiful.

I like reptiles. :) I also like rats, degus, and cockatoos (particularly sulphur-crested ones) as far as unusual pets go. I have never kept any of these things as pets and probably never will.
I held a baby corn snake once. It was lovely. It put its head in my jacket pocket. :D

Ooooooo, what kind are you going to get? My first one was my Corn Snake. They're pretty easy to care for after you get everything set up.

Yesterday i was at the pet shop picking up some food for the snakes, and there was a couple looking at the snakes... Me being, well, me, i started talking about the snakes and when they acted like they were interested in getting one, i started to try to advise them on what species would be good for beginners.... Then, later, they came up to me and asked about a product, assuming that i worked there! Kind of funny, considering i wasn't dressed at all like the employees and had all my facial piercings in. But that seems to happen a lot whenever i go to pet shops and can't keep my mouth shut, and just start talking in a bunch of reptile facts to other customers. ha.

I think it would be awesome to have a Sulcata. I definitely don't have the resources to be able to house an adult one right now, though.

Watching Mozart and the Whale, both characters had a bunch of unusual animals... So i figured that animals might be a common obsession for a lot of Aspies. Where do you live? I think most places yu can get a permit or something. Here, they're trying to pass laws for large constrictors and such... But hopefully, if they do, i'll be grandfathered in.

I love reptiles. I've been that way since I was a kid. Right now I don't have any but have contemplated getting a bearded dragon at some point. Snakes are still my favourites.

Right now I have 2 cats, 2 rabbits and a 300 gallon saltwater tank with fish and live coral.
