My brother is a closet artist who won't admit how good an artist he actually is. I suspect he was bullied into an early age into thinking he couldn't be an artist because there's no money in it. (I don't know this for certain because he's much older than me, but it's what happened to me, so I strongly suspect this was the case.)

My cousin has had his artwork shown in Japan. He also went out with Tom Petty's daughter.

One of my grandfathers was a draft dodger (from the Prussians in Germany) jumped ship off Nova Scotia (working as an impoverished fisherman) sneaked into the US at Erie PA without papers and, years later, was beaten by a drunken, enraged mob over WWI, even as my dad, his son, was fighting in France as a regular Army PfC as a machine gunner in the trenches. He eventually died as a result of the beating.

My Aunts and Uncles ( my mom's half siblings) are all direct descendants of Jefferson Davis, great great great great grandchildren (forgot how many greats). Luckily I've no relation, as he's not the kind of historic figure you'd brag about related to =P. But a pretty big figure in american history none-the-less.

This is dark, but once in a conversation between my father, my brother and I, my father told us he kept poisonous mushrooms in the garage in case life just got too hard. My brother, in surprise said "So do I!".

My grandmother had a sister who fell pregnant outside of wedlock and was disowned by her family.

My uncle was shot with an air rifle when he was young and the pellet is still lodged in his head.

My Mother's Father had Parkinsons. My Father's Grandfather was a German Citizen during World War 2 and helped Jews to escape the nazis.

My first cousin's younger daughter suffers from a mild case of mental retardation - she's 10 (11 in two months) and she has problems with saying how old she is, what the date of her birthday is or even what season of year we have now - according to her, it's summer. She's terribly immature and behaves like she was 6.

Her older sister is demoralised. Their dad who is divorcing my cousin, recently came out as bisexual (I mean, he's hiding it but everybody in our family knows). They both keep abusing my first cousin in the most evil ways. My cousin however here is at fault herself - she let them abuse her for a year until her daughter, husband and his putative boyfriend took an attempt to strangle her.

My godmother who is my mom's older brother's wife hates me from the bottom of her heart. She keeps a yorkshire terrier which isn't well taken care of, from what I heard.

My other aunt has some hearing problems recently but she refuses wearing a hearing aid.

My very distant female cousin had a baby who died just after it was born. It was a couple of years ago, maybe 4 or 5. Now she already has a new child.

My grandfather's sister died somewhere in her late twenties as a result of childbirth complications. She was a teacher if I am right.
