I was watching video of Alex Plank giving the talk that they flip to when WrongPlanet is too busy, and he was really funny. But he was dead-pan, and was just saying true things, but choosing his associational asides well. And he would react with surprise when people laughed even though he knew he was making jokes.

That's my humor too. And I never get used to people laughing when I say funny things. My first reaction is "what are they laughing at" even when I've carefully set it up.

ive been told im hilarious actually on several many occassions by several different people. so even tho i dont think its fair for an individual to call themselves funny, especially if they lack a TOM to know if other ppl find what theyre saying funny, if enough ppl tell u that u r its gotta be true. And i think where alot of my humor comes from is a refusal to both take my own mind and the world around me seriously. I know my thinking can be sometimes irrational so i'll exaggerate my thoughts so far out that they couldnt possibly be serious and therefore it becomes funny. I'll also point out how stupid some nt's behaviors are when they're following social norms and that tends to be funny too because no one else ever seems to say anything about it

I really wish I was because everyone seems to like funny people but whenever I try to make a joke everyone thinks I'm serious. -_-

People tell me I am quite often but I distrust most people before I trust them, but then I don't have any adult ASDian friends, as far as I know. Thats why I am on this forum I LOVE people who tell it like it is.

In all honesty folks I don't really know if other people think I am funny or not (and mostly I don't care) but I get a huge amount of leg weakening, snorting, sometimes drewling, belly laughs almost everyday and that's important......to me anyway!! !!

I often say something of which I perceive to be funny, and the more immature friends of mine think it's funny, and so do the aspergers friends of mine, yet everyone else thinks I'm weird. It's strange... Which brings me to the somewhat divided personality of mine, I seem to go from very serious, and silent, to jabbering away about god knows what and making stupid jokes, and saying the first thing that comes in to my head (usually insulting)...

i am not upset that i am not funny, i kind of enjoy it.
one of the most hilarious aspects of my private humor is that others seem so gravely unmoved by it. it adds to my mirth in a sick way and i spasm out in my own private laughter attack and when i look back up and see all the concerned faces i become hysterical with laughter.

people at work are told "just let him calm down by himself and you guys get back to work".
even that is funny. it is like a mental itch i have that can only be scratched by laughing or something. but if you scratch an itch, it often becomes itchier. no one else shares it however.

:lmao: That is so well described! I am that way; the more people look confused, the funnier it gets, until I am nearly in hysterics. :) I'm laughing right now, imagining those perturbed, clueless faces...
