Looks like a part of a scene from the movie Night At The Museum II: Smithsonian.

Is that avatar from an actual painting during the realism era?

A continual wondering where that symbol comes from. What is that thing? Is it a symbol of Asmodeus? I keep thinking it is some kind of veve... but of course I would think that...

Honestly, I do not know. I'd love to find out though. It's most likely a good photoshop job.
