I love the Japanese because they can make a big deal out of making a cup of tea or looking at cherry blossoms.

Most of us miss savoring the moment when we take a drink of cold water, or sliding between clean sheets or looking at clouds on a fine summer's day.

There are many things both great and small that give us pleasure.

If we were more aware of these simple pleasures then our lives would be richer.

For example how many of you say "ahh, that is better" after going to the toilet?

Neat old houses give me pleasure such as this one, which happens to be a model.

I'd like to live in a house with that kind of architecture.

For me, deciding to take a bus journey by foot, on the weekend, something I now seldom do :(
Nothing to do with being green, just exploring the countryside.

That is cool. Why do we love things in miniature?

That is a really good point, and I am not sure I have an answer. But I have always loved scale models. It has always been important for me to have my HO scale layouts be accurate in terms of scale. Maybe we like miniatures because it gives us our own little world that we can use our imagination to build. And this is interesting too because even though I think I have a great imagination, the layouts I build use existing designs---not my own. For example, in my amusement park, my roller coasters are not my own designs, but built from actual 1920's blueprints. And rather than design my own houses and buildings, I utilize already existing designs.

Watching Ants.
Finding a new insect.
Saving a life.
Smoking a cigarette.
Spot-lighting in forests at night.
Playing with my nieces and nephew! :D
Thinking about Cosmology and our Awesome and awe-inspiring expanding Universe.
Doing One More back-bend in a yoga work-out, when I'm exhausted and drenched with sweat and my whole body is trembling.
The cold shower after-wards! :D

The Kinks, their music and how most of their clothes from the 60s appear to be unisex. I love unisex clothes. 8)

Relaxing with/snuggling with Gemma-cat.
Among other stuff.

I do from time to time. Or say something similar.

A good night's sleep. (rare these days)

Taking a cold shower after exercising.

Walk at night, and driving around at night.

Probably the top of my list is an uninterrupted,guilt-free afternoon nap. The kind when it doesn't matter when you wake up and there isn't other thing you should be doing.

I have quite a few of these really:

:star: Sitting in a park or field in the summer reading a book or with good company with a chilled refreshing drink away from the crowds
:star: Reading a book in bed or sat in my recliner with my cat on my lap
:star: Kicking some ass on the X-Box 360
:star: Lying in bed with the room dark apart from the flickering light coming from the lava lamps whilst listening to Massive Attack, Ozric Tentacles or anything else industrial, psychedelic or chilled
:star: Listening to music I like depending on my mood or singing to myself
:star: Doing artwork
:star: Studying or engaging in an activity that ties in with my latest obsession
:star: Walking across a beach or in the country as far away from the city as possible
:star: Walking around between 12.30am-2am on a summer night when it is still warm and everyone is asleep or between 4am-6am just as the sun starts to rise of a summer morning when no-one else is up. I cannot do this where I live as it is not advisable. When I lived in a safer area, I used to do this a lot. For me it was a great escape.

Once I woke up right before dawn and was having a cup of coffee and gazing out the window. Along came a naked jogger. I guess he was having his simple pleasure too. :)
