Hey, don't ignore his originals! "Slime Creatures From Outer Space", "Harvey the Wonder Hamster", "Albequerque" (also being a style-parody of a Southern California band called the Rugburns), "Party at the Leper Colony"...

I can't see commercials for the movie My Bloody Valentine In 3-D without hearing the classic "Nature Trail To Hell (In 3-D)". :)

Weird Al is the master of parody. His song parodies and style parodies are absolutely brilliant. And he does it all without being vulgar or too political.

Since his voice matured (men's voices don't fully mature until their forties), his singing has become quite impressive. He is able to sing in a wide range of vocal styles, and some of his more recent songs are technically challenging to sing. It took me a bit of practice to be able to sing along with "Virus Alert" and I've had over fifteen years of vocal training.

His command of the English language is impressive as well. He matches the lyrics to the music so well that it's hard to imagine any other words being sung to that tune.

Weird Al is a legend. The fact that he voices Wreck-Gar in the new Transformers cartoon just adds to that :)

I love his parody songs - Amish Paradise still makes me giggle like a loon - and the original stuff he does, like The Night Santa Went Crazy. Plus, Kurt Cobain once said that he knew that Nirvana had made it as rock stars, because Weird Al had asked to parody them. How cool is that?!

I used to love him as a kid, but I haven't heard anything from him in years. I think my favorite thing from him is "Amish Paradise".

From the ages of 8-13 I was a big Weird Al fan, particularly of his first 3 albums. He was one of the only atrists in which I actually listened to his lyrics. Then I guess I sort of outgrew it, but, I still like to listen to his tunes today, if if happen to catch them.

Wow, me too. I am not a lyrics type of person, but when I was young I tried my hardest to pay attention to his lyrics! I wanted to know everything he was singing about because then I would get the humor. I am still a fairly big fan of Weird Al.

He is a legend. And it's not just his music--it's his TV show and his personality. And his polka playing skills. Nobody can say "no" to his accordion.

EDIT: Oops, I just realized this thread was from over a year ago!

Soo, is anyone here a fan of Weird Al Yankovic? Just curius...sometimes I like to listen to him on youtube. XD His parody songs can be soo humoress...even those that are a bit sick and twisted lol. Llike some example's would be 'Elmo's got a Gun' (LOL that song's badass when the mood hits haha espesally since im a sesame street fan soo yeah o.o xD), 'Barney's on Fire' (it's a great song for when your in a bad mood :D), 'Eat it!' (i saw this one in a Kirby AMV XD based off the michal jackson tune 'beat it'...it was funny...xD Perfect theme for the pink puff! lol)...and of course you can't forget 'Canadian Idiot' (XD) and 'What I bought on Ebay' (that song...ROCKS HARD, man. o-o;; seriusly...it does XD lol soo funny...:D XD).

Weird Al writes some pretty cool songs! Thats all I know for now I think, but i'm sure he made some others, too. Prehaps you should check him out some time? :3
~teh cmastler XD :) :D XD^^

Elmo's Got A Gun and Barney's On Fire aren't Weird Al; there's actually a list of songs he hasn't done but that people attribute to him floating around somewhere.

I love Weird Al. I listen to his videos, all the time. 'Yoda' is a good song. I also like 'Dare to Be Stupid' and 'Eat It!' I like how he can take any song, and turn it into something funny. 'Ebay' is also another good song. Who can forget 'White and Nerdy'?

Wow, I must say it's great to see he's still appreciated. I've met him in person twice when he came to Australia. It was great to hang with him and his band backstage. The last time he was going through a bit of a rough patch personally but he was as always a brilliant performer and has a lightning wit.

I love Weird Al, as well as Dr Demento who plays Weird Al and other novelty music on his radio show.

Back in the late 70's when I was in high school, I found a latenight radio show, Dr. Demento. He played Weird Al's songs...they had mostly been recorded in his bathroom (for the great acoustics, LOL) I thought he was a riot back then. I still remember the first time I heard him sing Yoda (Lola).

Amish Paradise has been going through my mind lately, funny to see it mentioned here.

I liked "I Lost On Jeopardy" a lot too.
Anybody see the movie he was in awhile back, "UHF"? My husband loved it.
