Well, he's not alive now, but some speculate that H.P. Lovecraft had it.

Bram Cohen, Micheal Burry, and Satoshi Tajiri are all confirmed Aspies (not speculation). James May from Top Gear might have it, I remember them joking about it on the show once, but I have no idea if it's true - he certainly has a lot of traits, though.

Slightly more speculative people would be Bill Gates, Albert Einstein, Nikola Tesla, etc.

TRULY suspected, I'd have to list people who suspect themselves:

Daryl Hannah
Gary Numan
David Byrne (believes he had it when younger, but has since been "cured" by growing out of it)
R. Crumb
Courtney Love
Stephen Stills (his son has it, and he claims he sees traits of it in himself)

Apparently the Dan Aykroyd thing is still up in the air, but I wouldn't doubt it...

Isaac Newton and Thomas Jefferson are suspected to have had it.

I had thought that Hannah and Ackroyd had official diagnoses?

I still don't think Jefferson was AS - although I do harbor suspicions about his contemporary (and my ancestor), John Adams.

I read on one website that Helena Bonham Carter suspects that Tim Burton has it. Several websites list Crispin Glover as being autistic, but it's unconfirmed.

I don't think that it's really my place to diagnose celebrities. I know in my heart, which could be suspected to have AS.

Yes we should make ourselves feel better by trying to claim that famous people have the same problems as we do, people can't be weird or eccentric without having a diagnosis put on them.

Actually confirmed? Gary Numan, Craig Nicholls, and Ladyhawke. I can't think of anyone else well-known who definitely has it off the top of my head.

The youtube user Aspergianstar2009 has aspergers. He's not exactly a celebrity, but he seems like a decent man.

Is it better to treat celebs who might not have aspergers as if they do, or is it better to treat people who do have aspergers like celebs?

There is some pretty serious evidence that Bill Gates is from what I've seen.
