When you're immersed in a hobby, do you feel like it's intruding and invasive on other people?

One of my hobbies is vehicle photography. I've been photographing many cars, trucks, motorcycles, etc. that I encounter across the state for a year now. I began posting what I find on Flickr after finding several others doing the same. My policies on photographing include no trespassing on private property and hide in the safety of my own car so I can't be seen.
However every time I post something I feel like someone might find their own vehicle and complain. So far the only one who's noticed was the owner of a 1930's car who was very happy to find it online.:D

Nope, my hobbies aren't invasive to other people at all. Watching movies is a pretty solitary activity for me, although I do try to get people to watch my favorite films every now and then, but it's hard to do because all of my other family members have, y'know, actual lives. :P And a lot of the stuff I watch they don't like, because my taste in movies is pretty weird, considering I enjoy things like Repo! The Genetic Opera and The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

Like IdahoRose said, my hobbies are also pretty much solitary. I'm usually shut up in my room all day, pursuing my interests on the internet. I guess you could say that my hobbies are invasive of me having an actual life.

I focus on one hobby at a time. Right now it is my genealogy, and that is the one when I'll just sit at the computer all day and not talk to anybody.

In your particular hobby, I would say be sure to never show faces or license plates or house numbers and so on ... just the vehicles.

I'm a writer, and while that in itself is not intrusive, other parts of it are. For example, whenever I have to kill off a character that I bonded with emotionally, I actually go through a sort of grieving process where I am mopey and incredibly depressed (I don't want to eat, do anything, etc) for a few weeks. That really puts a strain on the people I live with. I also can become rather excited when something good happens in the story and I won't shut up about it.

I also do visual art and sometimes my emotions get the best of me depending on what I am painting, too.

Otherwise, with my other special interests, I just talk about them nonstop to my family.

OP, listen to me very carefully - don't feel bad if your hobbies intrude on other (NT) people, they don't give a rats ass if they intrude on you. Why care for them when they don't care for you? Aspies need to grow some balls.

I think this is terrible advice. If someone feels they have had their privacy invaded, then the OP can simply take down that picture. It's not that hard to be considerate of others... NT or not.

OP, like a PP said, just make sure you don't show any identifying information in the photos and you should be good.

I don't really have any hobbies at the moment, but I am considering bringing my crochet stuff back out. I have a half finished blanket I set aside when I had kids. I miss crocheting. It was very comforting.

Stooping to their level is not the answer. Ever heard the saying "An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind."?

You make it sound that all Aspies should kill all their enemies - NTs.

Where did you get that from what I said?

"Stooping to their level" - NT's have evil intentions to control the world and Autistics.

You should know that I'm not the only one; it's everyone else who share the same hobby on Flickr. They go through the same dilemma I'm in; not to be seen and fear of intruding. We had a discussion one time about experiences we have on this topic.

I wrote that in my post as one of my policies, but I apparently deleted it.

NTs don't want us dead. They're simply misguided.
