I think that it should have been prevented, to that we wouldn't have all this security. I can't even go down to the states without a passport, now.

Did you know the 9/11 was also the anniversary of the Chilean coup d'état in which the CIA was implicated ?

Does anyone remember how u reacted to the news of it?
I remember the blanket coverage, how it was on all the TV channels and in all the newspapers.

I remember feeling for a while (from the morning when I heard to mid afternoon) feeling like the whole thing was a big war of the worlds style prank. I wish it was a prank instead of the massive tragedy it was.

9/11 made me sad because none of those people deserved to die that way. :(

I feel no connection to the anniversary and have no desire to remember it every year. I was there and got a big dose of it the day of and for a long time after. If you hadn't made this thread I wouldn't even have remembered it was the anniversary. Maybe next year I'll remember so I can stay away from any sort of media.

It doesn't feel like it happened nine years ago today, that's for sure. There were kids in my tiny school who lost parents in NYC that day. It was such a tragedy.

I felt completely shocked. I only knew about it after my mom picked me up from university and told me. When I got home, I watched the whole thing on CNN.

I was in first grade. We were coloring pictures of apples when all of a sudden the intercom came on telling all the teachers to turn on the tv to the news. We didn't have a TV so our teacher lined us up and walked us to the big, scary white room next door where all the bad kids went for detention. Then she turned on the TV and we had to watch it. I was scared, but I didn't understand what was going on.

I remember being happy because I got to go home early, irritated that my mom wouldnt let me watch Tom and Jerry because she was watching the news, terrified that my mom wouldnt stop sobbing (that was the first time I saw her cry), and so confused. I still remember it better than yesterday. I also remember my Muslim friend had to transfer schools because he kept getting harassed by the other kids, and half the time the teachers didn't stop them.

Personally I am sick and tired of the children in PP&R and their extremist views, never seen such a bunch of raving lunatics in one place before, its a f*****g embarrassment being aspie some days.

qft

It's getting really tiring now. It was a horrible thing that happened, but do we really need this shoved front and center as the basis of everything this country and everyone in it does?

My mom came in my room and switched the channel, I was playing Super Mario Sunshine so I quickly switched back to my game play and said, I'm not surprised.

Didn't you have any feelings about what had happened?
