Sometimes when I write a really good post, explaining how I feel in a really good, descriptive way - and nobody reads it or replies, and it's really annoying, especially when it's a recent topic and there had been lots of posts recently and then all the posts suddenly stop and my post never gets read. How come?

Also, I added a new topic a couple of weeks ago, and there has been no replies at all.

Finally - what's the point of those sorts of topics like ''count in threes'' or ''count to a million'' or something? I know the logic rule is ''if you see a problem with a type of topic don't post anything at all'', and I'm not posting anything in those sorts of threads, but I'm just wondering what the point is to them.

Maybe it's because the people who read it have nothing constructive to add? Maybe they don't play Sims2 and therefore can't answer questions specific to it? I mean, as an example, I guess I don't see the logic to going to a weight-lifting forum and asking them how to change the wheel bearings on my car....and then being confused at the lack of response.

The point is...there IS no point! It's just light-hearted amusement. Those kinds of threads are just little fun ways for members to interact with each other without using too much brain power, though I'm sure others use them as great ways to do a little post-padding.

Here's a few reasons I think that people don't respond to certain posts:

1. Too hard to read.
2. Incomprehensibility. (see 1.)
3. The post doesn't seem to be inviting comments, or only invites very select or specific comments.
4. The post is about something that few people have any awareness of or interest in.

I thought a lot of Aspies liked video-games and games like the Sims. And there are other threads about the Sims.

There's a lot of general discussion boards on Yahoo answers about the Sims but I can't be arsed to get all signed up and registered for them because last time I done that I kept receiving loads of email messages in my email inbox, and I couldn't get them filtered or blocked because they didn't have a particular email address to them, and so the email blocker wouldn't let me block the Yahoo answers junk mail. Anyway, those general forums you find on google aren't half as good as the WP forums. On the general forums you just get sarcastic NT teenagers who post stupid answers.

It's not just your posts that don't get replies. Everybody makes topics that don't get replies from time to time.

It's not really a big deal. I've just always wondered why. Every time I go on WP I look at all my posts, and I go through the recent posts I've made and see if there are any replies. I'm not getting at anybody by saying that - I'm just saying how I use WP. We all have different ways of using WP. Probably most of you go straight on the WP index each time you log into WP. I should do that really, so that I could see the thread at the top of the list, which is the most recent or common discussion. :)

I agree with Moog and jmnixon95 (though jmnixon's comment could be included in Moog's #1-2). Personally, I read the title of this thread and thought, "That grammar is terribly off-putting, that's why," and almost didn't enter the thread because of it. But then it occurred to me that the fact that I felt inclined to avoid the thread meant that I was one of the people you were asking, so here I am.

Why I felt disinclined to respond to this post:
1. Your use of the double negative when you presumably do not intend to mean that somebody does reply to your posts. I'm not a huge stickler for grammar, but some things just irritate or are hard to decipher.
2. People don't reply to some of your posts. No one has all of their posts replied to (except maybe Emlion ), so this thread seemed melodramatic to me, and I avoid melodrama.

Sorry if this is offensive. You did ask, and I like to oblige.

I wasn't talking about this thread. I was talking about threads in general.

Ohh, forget it - I was just curious, that's all. Can't a person be curious once in a while?
