People in extremely populated areas tend to display neonatal traits. The differences in male and female are also not as apparent.

Looks like that is happening all over the world. There are exceptions, though.

Why? I think the stress of over-population causes it. I think a direct cause is reduction in testosterone levels and/or adrenal gland issues as noted by the OP.

I also think it is related to Autism, as others speculate, including the most recent issue of Discover Magazine. (topic on 20 things you didn't know about stress).

I am in Japan in the Hokkaido area every year on a regular basis and I must insist that people there appear to be more beatiful in general. And yes, I would judge Japanese women being cuter than others. And I want to add that I have gone beyond the point where one would find every person looking the same, this is certainly not true.

I must reject the idea that the general attractiveness of East Asian people appears due to only beatiful people are chosen to appear in the media. First this is also true for the media everywhere in the world and second it is instantly apparent by just walking on the streets having a look at the people.

I am unfortunately not competent to give an explaination. I would imagine nutrition and genetic factors are important but this far from being a sufficient cause.

I agree. There are almost 4 billion people in Asia. Most people on the planet live there. That's a massively diverse group of people who vary greatly on all physical characteristics (including cuteness).

I feel slightly worried when people suggest that everyone from a particular country or region or race looks very similar. I wonder if they are missing all the wonderful variety.

^It does feel a bit like that to me as well. Not necessarily this thread, as the OP is Asian. But some people border on fetishism with Asians. It's kind of creepy.

Well, I suppose that if it had been the Asian girls in my high school who had all turned me down for dates, laughed at me for even asking them for dates, and stayed at home rather than have me take them to the prom, AND if my first wife (who cheated on me and had her boyfriend get me fired from the university job)had been Asian, AND if all the Asian women I met in the Navy had been interested in only the younger enlistees, I'd feel about them the same way that I feel about anglo-American women now.

Maybe if I had had just one pleasant experience with an anglo-America woman before meeting my Asian wife, I'd be married to an anglo-American woman instead.

Now, if you want to call all of that 'fetishism', then that's your business, but just because one person loves a person from another culture or race, it does not follow that any 'fetishism' is involved. It could mean that the person from that other culture was the first person to ever treat me with any real respect, patience, and love.

I wouldn't call loving a person from any race or culture fetishism.

They do tend to be skinny, I'll give you that, but diabetes is up in Asia because healthy eating isn't. The kids I teach have mouthfuls of silver because their baby teeth have been pulled out due to rot, and parents who think nothing of stuffing hamburgers into them for breakfast while their grandparents have the sun-dried skin of farmers the world over. Food is cheap but so is MSG, and do you really want to know the living conditions of the chicken that costs two dollars to buy? Generalisations are nothing but unhelpful pieces of silliness that come close to the racism of earlier generations and the explanations of exactly why black people made better slaves than white people.

You know, I went to a school that was populated by a lot of Japanese people, and I gotta tell you: I didn't find this to be true at all.

I suppose it could be a conspiracy by the Japanese government. They send their cutest people abroad and don't allow the uggos to leave Japan.

I'm not any more attracted to asians than I am to any other ethnicity. Maybe even a bit less.

Nah, I'm just messing with you :P . I find Asians cute. I tend to be more attracted to Latino and East/South-east Asian women. I'm Latino myself and I have a Taiwanese sibling and I speak Mandarin. I rarely if ever find other European people to be attractive. I have the same issue with mot other groups of ethnicities. I do also like American aboriginals, Pacific Islanders, and South Asians.

Before I was married, I dated girls/women from many different races and to a degree I agree that "there's something about asians". Then I married and Irish woman, married 15 yrs, separated 7 months. However, my personal preference (aesthetically) is for mildly athletic black women and has been since my mid teens.

Asians seem to have won the genetic lottery. They never age, do they? Black people, too. Asians and blacks can be 75 and look 40. I'm German Irish, and I know I'm going to look like a sack of potatoes by the time I'm 50, let alone 75.

 Well I was 50 in March and in the last 2-3 months have been "aged" by various people at between 35 and 40, so I guess i chose the right parents.

As an aside, I think as a general rule that persons of mixed race are beautiful and now proven to have fewer health related problems and slightly higher I.Q. stats, so I have read.
