I wasn't sure where exactly to post this topic but I thought I would give it a go here. I recently graduated with my M.Ed in Multiple and Severe Disabilities with a concentration in autism and I am struggling to find a job. I am certified in the state of Georgia P-12 special education adapted curriculum and P-12 special education reading cognitive. I have applied in more places than I can count and I have only had one phone interview. It is August and I am so sad that all of my teacher friends have gone back to work and I am still unemployed. I would be so appreciative if anyone on this site had any contacts that could help me with finding employment. I am currently living in Memphis, TN but I am willing to relocate as long as there is a good public transit system. If anyone has any information they can provide, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I sympathize with you. I'm in the education business, myself.
I've been that kind of spot before, and I know it's a terrible place to be.
Took me 3 years of getting my feet in various doors before someone finally decided to let me stay.

I'm short on contacts, but I really hope something comes through for you.
Find some sort of way to hang around the schools you want to work in. Substitute teaching is a seriously good way to do that. They will get to know you and think of you first when it comes to jobs.

Good luck :thumright:
