I have a couple extreme phobias, my main phobia is free falling, i would probabaly die of a heart attack if i ever had to jump out of an airplane or went skydiving, now dont confuse this with a fear of heights, i have no problem standing on a bridge thats very high up as long as its sturdy. And my second biggest phobia is zombies, i have a zombie phobia and i know whenever someone mentioms the zombie apocolypse ill immiediately start freaking out  , and i also sometimes have problems watching zombie movies or playing zombie videogames, ive gotten better and sometimes i like playing them so long as the zombies dont jump out at you suddenly when yuou dont expect it. if they jump out, then well, i hate to admit it but i tend to scream  , so what are your phobias?

These might seem odd but my biggest fears are outliving my retirement and being forced to hand out carts at WalMart or a job like it and getting Alzheimer's disease or some other long term neural degenerative condition like it. I spent a summer working in a nursing home and I can say with complete certainty that wasting away with a disease like that would be a fate worse than death.

I fear that about once every two weeks, someone will post a new topic asking people what their phobias are.

Wait, nevermind. Phobias are irrational fears. This fear has basis.

Agreed on all accounts - but add spiders to the list. Eight legs is TOO MANY!

In order of magnitude:
Spending the rest of my life alone.
Heights.
Open watter.
The dark.
Being underground (like a tunnel).
Ships/submarines (not being out in the ocean on them, just the ships/submarines them selves).

Wow, so many sarcastic responses!

I'm going to be one of the few that gives a straightforward answer:

Choking/objects stuck in throat - My most powerful phobia, brought on by traumatic experiences. Either myself or other people, reality or fiction, video or text. Doesn't matter. Somebody choking = instant massive panic attack.

Vomiting/Stomach flu - Origin unknown. Mostly afraid of myself vomiting, but other people vomiting distresses me too.

Heights - Origin unknown. I have difficulty climbing up or down stairs because of this. Whenever I am in a high place, I avoid the ledges at all costs, because I start to panic if I am anywhere near it, even if there is a guard rail.

I also used to have an extreme phobia of chemicals, but for some reason that disappeared after I began taking medication for my other mental health problems.

Spiders, vomiting, and becoming homeless.

Mortiphobia (fear of death). Otherwise, nothing. I used to be really afraid of heights but then I walked past a hundred-meter drop with no railing on a bad path and that cured me.

I have high anxiety at times but I don't really have any specific phobias or major fears that are worse than the usual. I think the worst thing that causes me anxiety & fear lately is about my girlfriend & our relationship. I worry about things that i know I have no rezone to worry about even thou I feel secure & safe with our relationship & her. I don't know why I worry; I think it could perhaps be an OCD thing. Maybe I should make a post in L&D about it one day

My main fear is open spaces: I scurry around the edges like some shy animal, always ready to dart under cover. The open space could be physical or psychological: being the center of attention is the same as being outside without cover. Other than that I just have the standard heights phobia, which I keep under control except in (shudder) glass elevators.

Spiders. Ever since I read that black widows live between trees and in toilets, I've been afraid of walking in between trees and sitting on toilets.
