Thanksgiving is celebrated each year on the second Monday of October in Canada, eh?

Thank you, Canada, for existing. It's always comforting to know that there's a place to which I can threaten to move whenever a Republican is elected president, even though I'll never have the money to actually do so.

Thank you, Japan, for producing so many sexy young men. I mean, there are plenty of sexy young men from other countries, but goddamn.

F**k you, xowe, for starting this topic and causing me to think of that horrible Alanis Morissette song "Thank You," which is now stuck in my head.

I missed Thanksgiving last year because I had the stomach flu. I also missed it the year before for the same reason. :x

I was taught that ThanksGiving was an American holidays celebrating when the pilgrims & indians worked together. What is this Canadian holiday about :?:

the canadian thanksgiving is for similar reasons - an early explorer gave thanks for surviving the journey through dangerous waters in 1578. mostly it became a harvest festival of sorts, then it was americanised when Loyalists came over here.

and happy thanksgiving!
