Transformers Fans
I'm a fan of Galvatron and Unicron. O! Grimlock too; his pronoun problems touch my autistic mind.
Movie-Galvatron was pretty cool, because he was voiced by Leonard Nimoy - as was Movie-Ultra Magnus, because he was voiced by Robert Stack. Post-movie, they sort of dipped in quality voice-wise (well, okay, maybe not Galvatron, because he was voiced by the awesome Frank Welker, but anyway...).

I think that Grimlock is in Transformers Animated (the current series on Cartoon Network), or at least a similar Dinobot that sounds and acts like him.

Speaking OF voice actors, Transformers had great ones, didn't it? I mean, I'm re-watching the show on DVD, and beside the really memorable ones like Cullen as Optimus/Ironhide, Dan Gilvezan as Bumblebee and Chris Latta as Starscream, most of the other characters have great voice acting behind them. Take Mirage and Hound, for instance. (Okay, Mirage was voiced by Welker, I JUST found out), but my point is that when I watch it, I believe the characters and their motivations when they speak. Some 80s and 90s cartoons have corny voice acting.
Of course, there are exceptions: I don't really like the voices of Bluestreak and especially Thrust. There's an episode where Thrust says something like 'Just give the order, Megatron and I will take care of those Autobots', though it should have been 'Just give the order, Megatron, and I will take care of those Autobots'. Intonation was wrong.

i loved transformers when i was a kid. the toys came with a picture catalog of all the transfomers and i used to be obessed with that! i wished i could have all those toys but my parents would only get me those smaller ones.
i got one of the constructicons for my 9th birthday, i think it was the cement mixer. growing up, my family didn't have a lot of money
the less said about that michael bay abomination, the better.

I thought it was kind of a pity that I could hardly find any G1 toys anymore when I was old enough to go to the stores and buy them with my allowance, all I could find was Generation 2 (and some recoloured Dinobots).

You know, I liked that movie, and I'm not ashamed to admit it. Did I have issues with it? Certainly (there wasn't nearly enough Megatron/Starscream interaction, for a start), but I took in the spirit it was intended: an extended toy commercial featuring giant robots beating and shooting the crap out of each other.
Which, oddly enough, also describes the original cartoon series pretty well

Looking back those G1 toys were the best. I used to work in a comics shop and they brought out these new Transformers where they were animals or something? There was this wolf or lion called Optimus Primal I think, totally corny. But I was in early 20's then and realized that toys are just ways to get $$$ out of kids parents. I still have fond recollections of G1 because to me they were the coolest things on the planet.
As for the movie, well that last battle scene made my head hurt. And yeah, it seemed like a 2 hr advertisment for the toys

For the Constructicon that you got, you probley got Mixmaster.
Here are the Transformers toys that I had (or at least remembered):
-Powermasters Optimus Prime (got him for 8th birthday)
-Starscream (got him for Christmas when I was 8 or 9)
-a Decepticon that transform into a two-headed monster and becomes the torso and head of a larger Decepticon
-a Decepticon that transforms into a snapping turtle and becomes the torso and head of a larger Decepticon
-a Decepticon that I believe that transforms into a jet (it is not a Seeker) and becomes the left arm of a larger Decepticon
It seems to me that I had more Decepticons than Autobots.
As for the movie, I think that they need to pick a new director, one that is actually a Transformers fan. At least a Transformers fan will keep the original flavor of the cartoon.
If I was the director, this is what I would done:
-replace Frenzy with Soundwave. Soundwave is the Decepticon Commuication Officer, Frenzy is just Soundwave's minion.
-more screentime between Megatron and Starscream
-traditional weapons (Starscream will his null cannon rays and Megatron with his gun attached to his arm)
-add Prowl since they added a Decepticon cop car, they should have an Autobot cop car.

Oh I am a HUGE transformers fan. I LOOOOOOOOOOVE Starscream (and although I didn't like Scourge and the Sweeps at first, they have since grown on me <3 ) Loved TFs since 1984, haven't stopped. I've got some of the eps on VHS and the 1986 Movie on DVD. There's actual episodes on Youtube.
Mom tried and failed to crush my interest in Transformers.
I had a few Transformers growing up. One bought for me, (Perceptor, purchased by granny for christmas 1984, given away by mom after my brother broke him in early 1985), the rest bought for my brother who had little to no lasting interest in the TFs.
He had First Aid (still have), Blades (out getting fixed), Outback (still have), Bumblebee (still have), Breakdown (stunticon lamborghini, he went missing), and Powermaster Prime (given away).
I WOULD have had Astrotrain in christmas 1985, but mom told granny to take him back--she was on her anti-transformers kick and was trying to stop me from liking them and forbidding me to watch or have them.
My youngest brother got him.
JEALOUS!
My favorite has always been Starscream,, no matter the series. Always and forever. I also like Optimus, Bumblebee, Ratchet, Blackout, Knock Out, Skywarp, Thundercracker, Soundwave and his kiddies, and Jazz.
I love G1, Animated, the Bay-movies (Yes, I do. Don't care if some people hate them, just don't give me a hard time.) and PRIME! TFP is going wonderfully~! Gotta love 'Screamers legs and fab heels!
