Yes. But some of them will usually come back depending on where you live and your cat's behavior. Usually if you get them fixed and you want them to remain outdoors as well as in, they will not roam so much. For me personally, it hasn't been easy keeping my cats indoors since I feel like I'm more their prisoner than their uh...parent. But I'm thinking of buying them an outdoor unit or something like this:

Ok maybe it won't look exactly like that but I'm planning to have something where they can be near their natural habitat. Other than that, if you do have a window open, I think it'd be best to get your kitty a collar and a tag that says she got his or her shots. If she or he didn't simply a collar. It's also always good to get them a micro chip. Just today we had a free animal clinic come here and give both the rabie shots and microchips free thanks to the volunteers.

Oh yes and they are very much like children they even have their own personalities. I grew up with so many. My siblings were always careless about the doors even though I was use to having them outdoors, my grandmother, sister, and me were always worried about them. I have a niece who's the same way. But not all are like that, my cat Calypso who I found in my yard starving to death, doesn't even attempt to get out. The times she has because of her curiosity, she would come right back in without me having to chase or pick her up. You never know with all cats.

I also love my two bonsai tigers :3 I couldn't be without a cat for long. I've tried to after I my previous cat died at the ripe age of 17, but then I saw this photo in an ad and just couldn't resist:

Image

It's the one on the right :) I originally wanted the other one because I liked her color, but the grey kitten seemed to like me better than her sister did. Of course she was already a little older than in the above photo when I took her home:

And that's her with her adoptive sister, a rescue kitten who is also my current forum avatar:

Image

They'll both be two years old in March (I picked the rescue because she was about the same age as my Scottish Fold), and they're still cute as two buttons :D

I love cats too! We (my mom, sister and I) each have a cat, and they are all sweet and adorable. My kitty is all black and is lying right next to my keyboard as I type this! :D

That reminds me of an article I read earlier today. Everybody loves cats, but nobody wants baby Kitler:

I'd adopt her if I lived in the UK :) But I wouldn't let her outside. She might try to invade Poland

Cats usually don't try to run away, but they will take a stroll outside or go on a hunting expedition, and might come back with a dead mouse :D They always find their way back. But it could be dangerous outside for the cat if there is a road nearby.

I have a road in front of my house, as well as some very large and territorial neighbor's cats. I often hear the noise of cat fights at night. So I decided to raise my two kittens as indoor cats. They have access to a large roof terrace though, which I've turned into a roof garden.

If you already have a garden fence, you can make it pet secure with an additional mesh fence like this:

The mesh fence is bent inwards, so they can't climb over it.

That's awesome! If I had the money I'd get them anything that was like backyard. Problem with my area, the land so small but I'm brainstorming. I'd like them to have some way to be both safe and outdoors.

Thank you. :)

I also love persian cats, siamese....well a wide variety and then those that're heinz 57. Yeah with persian cats depending on their coat length, you got to keep them groomed 24/7. Some people even get them trimmed or shaved for the hot weather but I agree they're very adorable.

Well depends on how long your gone. Believe it or not cats are not as high maintenance as dogs or other animals. Keep a lot of food and more than one water bowl and litter box. Find a family member or neighbor whom you can trust to check up on them. They also got places where you can have them babysitted but I'd be hesitant due to the cost and trust. It's always good to have someone you can trust. Offering money, not a lot is always good too but again be careful with whom you decide to watch them.
