Draguns don't handle the stuff, we think it's disgusting. Actually, we cast light beams. Light beams rip evil entities to shreds. Light beams are full elemental magic though, and considering that each individual element is controlled by an emotion it can be rather difficult. I am a master of water magic though, which is the most difficult, meaning that full elemental magic is somewhat easier for me.

No, we get our power from stars. The star has to be emitting a certain kind of radiation which then enables us to siphon stray energy from stars for the rest of our lives. If for some reason we can't get our energy from the stars we can use other sources, like electricity, or even body heat. It takes a lot of effort to learn even basic magic though. Though the practice of magic can slow down your ageing or even reverse it because you use energy that you would otherwise put into ageing.
