What is Your Definition of 'Art'?

If I could change the dictionary term, it would be this:

"Any material, existing in the form of one or more senses, containing an artist(s)'s expressive thought(s) created, judged, and given relative meaning by those who percieve it."

What do you think?

*my answer for the poll was that it's infinite, as art is expression of self, and we are ourselves by how we percieve creation, including ourselves, such as when a song changes your life by provoking thought*

art is the way man defines the the undifineable. the 3dimensional expresion of the human perception of the 4th dimention.

I think it can go either way. We see art and that influences how we act and express ourselves. We create art with our individual experiences, talents, perspectives, etc. which becomes an art form in itself.

Life imitates art. We are influenced by the art that we choose to enjoy.

Very interesting point of view, Mick. I always thought that art imitated life, because the people and experiences in an artist's life are a major influence on what they create.

Something that is made to entertain and please the senses, and actually has the desired effect on me personally.
