An interesting ratio so far. (About 20% leftie when I posted this) Especially since the estimate for the number of left-handed people in the general population runs at about 7%. (Although this may have more to do with lefties being generally more likely to post on a thread about handedness.)
Some interesting facts:
25% of lefties (estimated) are right-brain dominant. (As opposed to 3% of righties) A study of left handed and right handed monkeys found that left handed monkeys were more likely to be timid and cautious when presented with unfamiliar surroundings.
The Latin word "sinister" -- left -- also means "unlucky". The superstition of throwing salt over one's left shoulder when spilt comes from a belief that the devil stands over a person's left shoulder. This is also why historically Europeans have traditionally been suspicious of left-handers.
It is possible for a genetically right handed baby to become left handed as a result of congenital or birth trauma.
WATASHI WA HIDARIKIKI NA NO!! !
Did anyone else apart from me used to write backwards as a kid?

I know that i can use my right hand pretty good. my left hand does pretty good too. but ive always functioned as a 'righty'. i could probably switch to writing with my left hand but i dont like the ideea of my hand passing over what i have just written. so maybe i would be a 'lefty' in another language.
Lefty, as is my brother. Strangely he plays guitar Right-handed.And I did the same when I attempted to learn. O.o but Right-handed playing style seems like it would be more for lefties because wouldn't you need more motor skills along the fretboard?

Right handed. I don't think I ever use my left hand for anything independently, except maybe pointing if I'm holding an ice cream cone or a torch or whatever.
