I have two vintage ones with the satin edges, one is pink and the other red and green plaid,a Hudson Bay blanket, and a very old comforter with hand carded wool in it.I like to sleep cold so I pile on the blankets. They are very cosy.

Ever since I discovered them, they are the only ones I've bought since.
I have two pairs for a single bed, and two for my double bed.

I'm allergic to wool but I like the satin edges. So if they are synthetic, sure :) Even if they are wool, the satin edges mean if I'm careful I don't have to let the wool touch my skin.

^ They look very comfortable but are very expensive. How come we are talking about blankets in summer?

If you can get a really good quality one they last forever. I'm pretty sure the ones my nan had were decades old.

I prefer mink blankets though.

Those are my favourite types of blankets. Do they have them in pea green?

I am also a fan of wooly winter blankets with the pretty satin trim. I like running the satin sideways against my skin. I wish I didn't live in the tropics.

You can have the air-conditioner on to make your room cold, and then use your blanket to feel warm. I know it sounds silly and it's a waste of electricity but it feels so nice. You couldn't do it all the time but you can do it once in a while.

I love wollen blankets, but I've never owned one with satin edges. I once used a very warm military surplus wool blanket. This winter I just slept fully clothed with a coat, stalking cap and a pre-owned shipping blanket (the kind you wrap furniture in when you're moving) because it was the best I could do. It worked pretty well, but I'm fine with just some long johns and the blanket now that it's starting to warm up again here.
