it is really amusing how many places call what they speak "English" and are mutually incomprehensible

That pretty much sums it up.

The only thing I know is that when I go to the US, I have to get used to not being able to ask for water because they don't have it over there. They have something called Wadder instead.

Yet, mention the word 'toilet' and they all go shy and embarrassed. Apart from the sillyness of Rest Rooms where there is nowhere to rest and bathrooms without a bath you can't even name stuff correctly. It's not 'bathroom paper', it's toilet paper, because it's used after you've been to the toilet!

So, suppose your toilet breaks, maybe the bowl cracks or something, how do you actually go shopping for a new one without saying the word? Inquiring minds want to know.

....when was "toilet" ever an awkward word in the US? I've never, ever heard someone say "bathroom paper".

Now if only someone would tell me what 'grits' are. I have seen them, and was told if you put butter, salt, and pepper on them they taste like butter, and salt, and pepper.

Grit's are a coarse grind of dried white hominy. They are gritty before cooking. Mix them with water and cook till the consistency of cooked oatmeal. There are all sort's of ways of eating them. With shrimp, or maybe bacon and egg's mixed in, butter and salt and pepper is good. I like mine with sugar and peanut butter and I've been told that I eat it in a weird way.
