Cats not only sleep when they want, but where they want to as well. My big Siamese boy sleeps on my pillow. I need two pillows, one for me and one for the cats.

I often have to sleep in strange and uncomfortable positions because Flo's sleeping right in the middle of my bed or something :D

Cats don't weigh much, push it out of the way. Flo can get comfortable on a small piece of the bed. It's your bed, use it.

I can't push her out of the way when she's sleeping! She'll look at me with her big sad eyes and think it's because I don't want her near me. I can't disturb her when she looks so sleepy and cute. I let her sleep wherever she wants :D

Cats have routines too, and if her routine involved sleeping at the same time as you, or joining you in bed at a certain time, it can definitely throw her off.

That's what I thought. She's always fed at the same time, but we usually go to sleep at the same time each night and I haven't lately. She definitely has a very rigid routine and, until recently mine fit in with it well, but mine has changed now. I'm going to start going to bed closer to the normal time now though.

I suppose it's possible for some cats to be really OCD'd about routines, and others be more flexible. I've always had fairly flexible cats.

Flo seems to be the more OCD type I think :P
She always sits / sleeps in the same place in the same room, same chair at the same time of the day etc. So I usually know exactly where she is :D

Prince weighs 18 pounds and is quite long and big (not fat), so he's not easy to move out of the way.

I have an extremely needy cat named Pumpkin. She gets into bed with me and tries to groom my hair while I sleep. It drives me nuts. She's not too heavy, so I can pick her up and throw her on the floor. However, she's very persistant and keeps coming back - I have to do this like 10 times before she gets the hint that I don't want to be groomed.

18lbs sounds easily to move. Though I like playing with my friends dog that weighs 100 lbs and I swing him around a little.

I think cats should be able to do whatever they want, as long as it won't harm them. I let Flo sleep wherever she likes. My mum doesn't though.

I let Molly sleep wherever she wants, as long as that "wherever she wants" isn't my lap when I'm trying to type :)

Oh yeah, the one place I won't let Flo sleep is on my laptop when it's open. She likes it because it's warm so I always feel bad taking her off it. :D
