It was embarrassing enough to have a security guard pull me aside when there was people around who probably took notice of it, but he made me feel even worse when he after having looked through all i had on and carried with me, said "Well.. I might not have found anything on you or in your bags, but i know for certain that you were the one who stole from that shop" - then he just left..
What an a-hole!
When I was in my early 20's I was in a video game store when I turned around and saw a female standing by the counter talking to the clerk, both of them looking at me. I thought I was just imagining things and continued to look through the games. Then the security guard came up to me and said hi. I said hi back and he asked how it was going. I assumed he didn't just wanna be a nice guy, so I just looked at him hoping for him to go on if there was a problem. I was carrying a bag and he asked me what was in it. I told him (prescription drugs for me and my grandfather, and pet food). He asked if he could see and I handed him the bag. He looked, handed it back to me, thanked me and went to the counter where he said to the female "That wasn't it".
She became upset and said she had had a white bag. He seemed to be a little impatient when he replied that "well, it wasn't that one".
She just left without any apology. The way she acted I hope she never saw her bag again.
But at least the guard was polite and nice about it. It would have been a nightmare if he hadn't.
