You shouldn't need to teach your family members tricks.
Hmm...they aren't actually family members. And it's not about needing to, it's that you can. My dogs enjoys rolling over and shaking my hand.

If you know your cat well, then you can tell when they are happy/sad/pissed off.
I was never good at reading body language. Dogs are the pet for Aspergians.
Sopho wrote:
That's good. You can just lie there and talk to them. You don't have to take them out for a walk or to play.
I would talk, but they don't speak the same language as me. Plus, when something is asleep theres really no point in talking to it even if they could understand human language. Further, cats hide away when they sleep so you can never track them down.

Flo doesn't use me. She loves me. Dogs are stupid then.
Flo uses you for food, shelter, warmth and comfort. Does she pay for any of those things?
Also, animals don't love because they don't feel emotion. They operate purely on conditioning, trial and error learning and instinct. No, dogs are not stupid, they can learn tricks, remember?
Sopho wrote:
How is that a good thing? I have social anxiety and I hate hot weather. I'd rather stay in sleeping next to Flo.
Because not everyone has social anxiety and like to take their pets for walks.
Sopho wrote:
Flo has never done that.
Then your cat is one of a kind. Either that or you don't let it out.

Sopho wrote:
Why would you want them to lick you anyway?
It was an observation. Dogs have nice, smooth tongues while cats tongues are gross. Plus, licking is kissing and its nice to be appreciated.
Sopho wrote:
Talking more is not a good thing. Cats have beautiful voices.
Cats have a loud, high pitched, irritating whine.

Incorrect.
We shall see.
