$1200 bloody f*****g dollars on suspension work for my vehicle, plus a new tie rod end.

it did not fix the steering wheel play as i had hoped, and all the mechanic's inspections so far don't seem to indicate a problem there. so i suppose all that's left is to accept that the wobbliness there is not a problem, but rather a feature of these older cars.

it's certainly possible to make it tighter, but then it wouldn't be authentic...

it pulls to the right, but that might just be due to improper camber/caster.

I don't mean to be unduly alarming but from personal experience I could tell you that pulling in one direction, more notably on hard braking, could be due to a bent frame from a previous unknown collision that was not properly repaired. that happened to me and the car, although nice, was not in my opinion safe to drive.

they're likely incomplete, but the service records i have don't seem to indicate a past collision of that magnitude.

what car? i can keep mine in a straight line when braking if i hold the steering wheel in the right way, but i'll have to test that somewhere....i just don't wan to get rid of this thing so soon.

was referring to my own car back in the day. you should not have to hold the steering wheel any special way to avoid the phenomenon described. granted there are a few other things that can cause a car to veer on hard braking but a bent frame certainly will cause this to a marked degree, that is what I found out after I bought a car for a too-good-to-be-true price back in 1989 [i'm old :bigsmurf: ] and fixed the other things but the car still veered.
