I really like owls; they look both intimidating and beautiful, and they're used in various mythologies in some cool ways.

I like penguins, too. Their black-and-white color scheme is cool and striking, and the way they take care of their young is very interesting. Plus, baby penguins are a strong candidate for the cutest thing on the planet!

I also like ostriches just because they look funny; they're like the antithesis of what you would expect from a normal bird.

Little garden birds like robins and blue-tits because they're so small and cute and dainty.

I like ducks, but then again the cartoons I grew up watching had so many of them. And Ernie's rubber ducky. :)

And the loon, it has such a sad and beautiful call.

I think I just like water birds in general. Maybe because I like swimming and get envious of them when it's hot in summer and they can swim almost anywhere and anytime they want.

I also like robins and black-capped chickadees and blue jays.

A lot of people find crows are pests, but they're supposed most intelligent of all birds, maybe as smart as a monkey. In Native North American folklore the raven is something of a trickster god, and I read an amusing story about a raven that saved the land from dying of thirst when a greedy frog drank up all the water. The frog was sitting in what used to be a lake but he drank it all and was sitting there, the biggest, fattest frog you ever saw. When the raven swooped down he flicked his tongue at her to knock her out of the sky, but she dropped a big rock she was carrying on his tongue and he swallowed it. He then got a really bad stomach ache and begged the raven to do something to stop the pain. The raven said she would but he'd to give back all the water, too. So she flew down and poked a hole in the frog's belly with her beak (ouch), and both the water and the rock rushed out. The frog was very sorry and decided it was better to sit on the rock in the water then have it all inside of him. :)

I like the Golden Eagle, especially the one made out to look like a war monster.

My favorites are the ones who nest here, raise their young here, and come to our yard, our wood, and our feeders just outside the windows.

I guess it should be my (almost) namesake. The Eurasian Wren - latin name Troglodytes troglodytes. It's pretty much the smallest bird we have around here, very cute. (and the "King of Birds" in folklore, from Aesop's fables.)

But really my favourites are Kestrels. There are a lot around here, and I'm fascinated by the way they can hover so motionless even when the wind is gusting.

And crows - they're the bird that most looks to me like they go flying just because they darned well enjoy it!

I don't think I have a favourite , I could list loads of birds I like.

For entertainment value I like birds that use profanity , I find it hysterical

EXTREMELY NAUGHTY BIRDS

Birds of prey. Have seen bald eagles in the wild, and osprey (fish hawks), and other kinds of hawks.

Crows are fascinating because of their behavior. Tribal and humanlike.

Have met domestic parrots. Have to love parrots.

Mourning Dove,Whipporwill and Wood Thrush for their song.
Bluebirds for their beauty.
Owls becuse of the calls at night and they are just awesome anyway.
Buzzards for the effortless way they soar.
Hawks and Eagles becuse they are just cool too see.I saw a Bald Eagle on Christmas Day lazily doing circles in the valley.Best present ever.
And all the birds at the feeder that keep me entertained.

Wild birds, especially owls & other birds of prey. Also agree on the intelligence of crows.
