In a word-everything! (I wish more people would think about their pets that way. We adopted many animals that other people gave up. Their loss was definitely our gain.)

I had:
As a child-a cat, a dog, mice, hamsters, fish, guinea pigs
In my 20's-a cat
Now-2 mice, 2 guinea pigs, and a turtle

I like to watch and observe them and to see their behavior and get to know them.

Tell me about it. I'm a Humane Society volunteer and you wouldn't believe some of the off the wall excuses people have for surrendering pets. One adopted a St. Bernard knowing that the apartment they lived in didnt allow pets and brought him back after the landlord or manager found out. That dog was practically a bear. What the hell made them think they could hide a St. Bernard??

There's a lot of things about pets, the way they know if your not well and will come and sit with you.

The thing I like about pets is that they love you unconditionally. You don't have to do certain things in order for your cat or your dog to love you. They love you just the way that you are. They also keep you warm at night when they snuggle onto your bed. It's been a little over a year since Chico passed away.

I know how you feel. It has been less than a year since my C.C. passed away, and I still miss her and all of my other lovely pets.

My cat Peter passed away in 2016 at the age of eighteen. Those special cats will be remembered forever.

Pets are adorable, comforting, and entertaining, but I think my most favorite thing about them is that they're not human.

Almost all fish I've had (except for the very shy/sick ones) will start swimming over to me within about a month, some within the first week. They (pets) love you because you love and take good care of them. You know with fish especially, since you can't put a leash on them or pick them up, come over to you on their own free will out of love and wanting to be nearer to their carer.
