I had a horrible night last night. The whole day yesterday was kind of weird. First I woke up with my index finger of my left hand numb. Thought that was strange. Worried about it of course and told everybody in my immediate vicinity, "My finger is numb." Everyone said, "So what?"
Last time I went to the doctors I accidentally dislocated my arm before going in, my entire arm went numb, I had to get a shot and felt nothing.
Oddly the something happens if I spend a large amount of time under extreme stress (A week or more generally), I have periods of being completely numb where I can't feel anything.
Wow, Arganger, it must be awful and very disconcerting to have periods of being completely numb. Stress certainly does create many strange physical symptoms. An overload of stress is too much for the body to tolerate without disruption among the ranks.
"Back bone connected to the shoulder bone
Shoulder bone connected to the neck bone
Neck bone connected to the head bone"
Also, I don't know much about anatomy, but I do know, as most people do, that a blow to the elbow, in addition to being painful, can cause a numbing of the entire arm and hand. There must be a nerve bundle in and around the elbow. I had a period of extreme stress that resulted in horrific jaw pain. Opening my mouth, chewing, swallowing were extremely painful and I lost about 20 pounds during that time. Finally, the pain got so bad I went to the hospital emergency department. They couldn't find anything structurally or physically responsible for my pain. Fortunately, a brilliant intern gave me the insight I needed to resolve the problem. He asked me if I tended to ruminate a lot. Eureka! That was the clue, or the magic words, that healed me. Cows ruminate, chew their cud. Chew, swallow, bring up and chew again. That's what I was doing metaphorically and it actualized physically. As soon as I made the connection the pain left.
