aside from world peace, freedom from disease and heaven on earth, I can't think of a single thing I want more than to be able to time-travel at will.

world peace & freedom from disease could be achieved with time travel , Heaven On Earth on the other hand is a tall order to expect from time travel

I'd love that too. Would like to take my tablet with me to take some pics, but fear I would battle to find somewhere to plug in my charger!

But there sure are some folk I'd love to meet. For example, Mozart, Beethoven and Haydn, Charkes M. Schulz, Alan Turing, Charles Dickens, Agatha Christie, RW Emerson...to name a few.

Hmmm. Time travel + Olympic level procrastination + Pathological indecisiveness + Perfectionism  ...
8O
Don't let me anywhere near a time machine! Too dangerous for me! :skull:
I'd just end up spending the rest of my life skipping back two seconds to review every single teensy decision that I... [nah, "skipping" sounds too jolly]... going back two seconds to... ["going" is too vague and boring]...jumping back two...[too cliched]...travelling back... [hmm, possibly; err, what about...]...

I time travelled once and met Blackbeard. He had a paradox on his shoulder!
I thought that his ship was so large that when he pulled into port, he needed a paradox to tie up to.

But one day a hurricane destroyed both piers.

So they became "a paradox lost".

Why are you so darned obsessed with time travel?

Are you hoping to re do some part of your own life? Or are you trying to escape into another era (past or future)? Or what?

I'm going into stasis. Wake me when it's possible to go back so I can fix my dumb mistakes.

I would like to see some sporting events, such as the first Olympic Games in Athens, Greece (1896) and Roger Bannister breaking the four-minute mile. Also, I would like to see the peak careers of certain tennis players, such as Juan Carlos Ferrero and Pete Sampras. I started getting into tennis at the tail end of Sampras' career and the start of Roger Federer's. I probably started really getting into it when Rafael Nadal started dominating the French Open.

I would "invent" and patent technologies in my family's name a year before our history books say they were invented. Imagine how wealthy I would be if I had "invented" the transistor -- or even the nuclear bomb -- before WWII.

At the very least, I would "invent" penicillin and anesthesia, and supply them exclusively to Washington's Continental Army during the Revolutionary War, to the Union Army during the Civil War, and to the U.S. of A. and its allies during WWI.

Maybe the OP saw "Ground Hog Day" starring Bill Murray.

Spoiler alert!

And now wants live one day over and over so he can study French, and then he can appear to became fluent overnight so he can impress some girl he knows (like Bill Murray did with Andie McDowell in the movie). Lol!

If I went back in time to Ancient Egypt I think the hanging out with me would be the last thing Cleopatra and Marc Anthony would want to do. They'd probably have me executed instead.

What makes people think they could just meet famous people in history if they just traveled back in time. You'd just be a complete stranger to them. Also you'd not only have to travel back in time, but you'd need to travel to the exact place where famous people lived. And like I'm sure they're going to react well when a total stranger suddenly pops out of a strange contraption and says, "Hi I'm from the future, can we be friends?" And there could also be all kind of horrible diseases in that era that you could get. Cholera, smallpox, Spanish flu, the plague! That sounds fun. Find out what it's really like to have bloodletters leech out your boils!

Also what if you traveled back and time and got younger and younger until you disappeared as you go past the date you were born? Or you went into the future and you got older and older until you died? I remember Hobbes once asked Calvin about why they didn't get younger as they traveled back in time, and Calvin said, "I'd explain it, but there's a lot of math." and then Hobbes said, "I thought you got a D in math."

It should be possible to travel into the future if your velocity comes close enough to light speed. Well if that is possible. But I don't understand how you would travel back. Also if at some point we are able to travel back we should have had some visitors from the future.

Time doesn't really exist. I wish I could experience an ongoing life, without ever physically aging.

Otherwise never look back! we're always being pushed forward. So enjoy the now
